Well said. I like to imagine that a documentary could be made about anyone's life, showing their trials as well as successes. Everyone has a story; keeping that top of mind when dealing with others is hard but important.
And not only does everyone have a story, but everyone has a unique, extraordinary story, everyone. Everyone's story, if we were to dig deep enough, is in some way stranger than fiction. And if your's isn't, just wait. It will be.

Tell me something (a) you wish more people knew about you, and (b) that you wish more people knew, about any topic
I wish we knew more about each other. I wish we could not just empathize, but actually experience being each other, for just a bit. I mean personally, 1:1. The person on the subway, your neighbor, your partner. We're so caught up in ourselves, like a prison. Wouldn't it be great?

Repeaters need to be everywhere. We've been living with 5G for years already, just not for commercial use. You've been around 5G for a while now.

I've not yet formed an opinion on 5G as it's being implemented, but, let's face it, there was no public debate. It is being pretty much forced upon us.

If all goes to plan, all of my worldly possessions will be fitting into this 1980s hiking backpack (h/t to my grandma) by the 25th.
There's so much junk in the world it's amazing. The problem for retail now is that even the poor in developed countries have too much junk. They get us hooked on shopping, then we get saturated with crap. Now what? Maybe next they'll sell incinerators.

It's possible. But how do you fit the backpack in the backpack?

The onions in this picture look like something out of my grandma garden (growing with only sun & water). The larger versions I saw are always from industrial farming, and are usually less nutritious (since they need to grow larger, and faster).
It could also be the soil, growing season, and variety. I'm guessing it has more to do with these factors. The US has all sorts of conditions in which to grow crops. Germany is more limited.

It looks like folded up towels.
Yes! I really want to sit on it. I should have done that and gotten a picture, but it was the beginning of a busy day. No worries. It will be there Monday. (But, of course, there may be a foot of snow on everything.)
I live in this odd micro climate in which it snows a lot then melts a lot. The winter temps are generally within 5C of 0C. The snow on these cushions with the lack of snow on the floor must be due to the insulating effect of the cushions. It's a lot of 'snow difference'!

I want one! Is this a different species not grown in the US, or do they just grow them better?
The soil and climate are different, and, yes, I guess they're just really good at it. The yellow ones were fantastic. So sweet and, it's hard to explain, complex. Like good wine.

Interesting. I skimmed a couple of his other videos and he seems to take a CBT approach, which is something I'm just now really learning about. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_behavioral_therapy.

If *encryption* is providing a false sense of security, then we here in the crypto space would be in for a very rude awakening... There is such a thing as a secure communication. That said, I am inclined to agree that, generally, "if they want your data, they can get your data".
Yes, I think the crypto space is in for a very rude awakening eventually. If we have the brains to encrypt, we have the brains to decrypt. It's all a matter of computing power, is it not? Nothing is insurmountable.

#utah implements strictest blood alcohol limit in the country. Sounds like a good move. https://www.cnn.com/2018/12/29/us/utah-dui-law-trnd/index.html
I like to drink very much, but for years now I do not drive even after one drink. 1: Can you imagine hurting someone while driving after drinking? 2: Even if alcohol is not a contributing factor to an accident, if you have it in you, you are liable. Do not drink and drive.

The most valuable in crypto https://levelnaut.com/2018/12/28/the-most-valuable-in-crypto/
I did not read the posting (too lazy, too late) but the most valuable thing in crypto for me is simply that I can transfer value, money, whatever you want to call it, to another person on the other side of the world easily and cheaply. That's it.
Aomori apples. These are the cheap ones, the ones we buy, but they're still the best I've ever had. Unbelievable. I'm not an apple person. But the Japanese really, really know how to grow good apples. $1/each here, $8/each in Taiwan.

...Or using Signal, TOR, and VPNs they subscribed to with cryptocurrency... The common man has a serious problem, and it's not that governments are "seeing" his data - it's that they are collecting it for later. We have no idea how it will be used (or who will use it) later.
TOR and VPNs give a very false sense of security, as does encryption. The questions is, are you important enough for them to go after. The 'common man', like me, has the least to worry about in some respects. If they want your data, they can get your data.

@d2r2 don't take Pascal literally. The quote reads completely different in context and sitting quietly in a room alone does not reduce the suffering caused by an earthquake or a supernova. However, a quiet room may protect you from disaster but not from your own consciousness.
Point taken. And I'll go out on a limb and suggest that we all, those of us who reach adulthood anyway, do at some point, however brief, have those moments of sitting quietly in a room, of thought stopping and just being. We just can't stay there, literally or figuratively.

There is independent religion and there is state religion used as #political tool. If your priest is promoting the party after the sermon I see no reason to ban that priest or his religion.

Simulation or not you can't deny we are meat using energy to move around and oxidate, while naming things left and right - this is simulation, this is up, that is down, etc It is a strangely amazing fact, no matter what matters.
And in that naming and categorization, we continually create our reality, moment by moment. Language is a tyrant.

Ahh, of course. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/honey_do_list. Yea, they suck. Like that's what vacation is for. But that's just my point. A real vacation is at least 10 weeks long. Almost seasonal.

One needs at least 10 weeks for a real vacation. A 14 day vacation is an oxymoron. If I have two weeks off, I use them largely to catch up with work. That's not a vacation. Change is good, but it takes time. It can't happen in 336 hours.
