Hmmm.... OK, I'll give it a try.
HOW: I try to be aware of my thinking throughout the day. Call it meditative, call it metacognition, or call it just trying to stay sane. Whatever.
WHY: Same as how, trying to stay sane and happy, or get there I guess.

The context is that he is a retired commander (his podcast is about military history and leadership). Applying military thinking to aspects of life can be helpful, a theme he explores on the show. I like the "Maybe" parable as well.

Hmm... I have to protest the militaristic, aggressive nature of this with uses of "attack" "reload" "fight" "reengage" as if life is a battle. It's not. This concept of embracing setback is not new, nor is it so gung-ho. See http://www.katinkahesselink.net/tibet/zen.html.

I don't know is it possible solution but god i hope so, i'm so tired of this. Quality of what you pay for and quality of what you get is just.. ugh. Internet is long gone from being just a side thing in your life. Daily issues with connection are just unacceptable anymore.
And if it were run on the blockchain, theoretically, your connection would go to the fastest server/miner because connecting would be rewarded. Now, if you're slow, you're screwed because you rely on ONE company. If your access was dynamic/decentralized, it might work better.

Answering my own question, the monopolies have a hold on means of transmission, and it's at the higher levels that decentralization becomes complicated. We can easily wire(less) a city, but how do we connect cities, countries. Satellites, undersea cables = power = monopolies.
But, we pay taxes for the satellites and cables, and even if the monopolies do control the downlink, we can decentralized distribution.

With regards to @flashmob96: OK you crypto tech wizards out there. Is a pay as you play decentralized ISP access, token driven, perhaps piggybacking on mining, model, is this something that could break the back of ISP monopolies? Can we access the internet via token use?

All it requires is a network of computers acting as servers. It's not complicated. It (decentralized ISP) would require way, way less power than what is being used to mine crypto.
In fact perhaps crypto will play a role in decentralizing ISP services.

At some point an integrated internet of intranets will provide an option. We've had the tech from the beginning of the internet. Now it's a top down model, but it could be decentralized. Why not? Why do we allow ourselves to remain dependent on providers?

Of course you will, but it goes beyond that. When you get old, you'll see young people dressing like you do now because the fashion has cycled. High waste pants for guys will be a fashion soon because they were in the early 70's. You'll see. Everything happens in cycles
I mean waist of course, but waste works as well. The amount of energy we contribute to fashion is indeed a waste. I'm a slave to many things, but I'm so glad I've never been a slave to fashion.

I'm interested in the positive effects of low level chronic radiation exposure on health. Not that that means nuclear power should be embraced, but perhaps the public debate has been a bit one sided.

Actually, governments do it all the time. Nuclear power, 5G, RFID passports, the list goes on. (I'm not saying those are bad.) But to voluntarily use new tech, there has to be a reason. How do I benefit TODAY? You have to answer that question to expect adoption.
So the problem is not that it cannot be forced on people. The problem is that it is still not ready for mass use. It just isn't. The performance lags behind what we now have (i.e., debit cards). Until that is fixed, crypto will not see mass adoption in trade.

Well, like most I suspect, I'm not a religious person, but we are all affected by the cultures in which we were raised. Sunday, and any calendar, is a social/cultural construct, so the reason must be due to my social/cultural conditioning at least in some way.

Places where #orchids are supposed to grow well: the tropics. Places where orchids actually grow well: London.
Beautiful. Early on in the European fascination with orchids, they could rarely get them to survive the trip back to Europe, and then they couldn't keep them alive, so orchids got this reputation of being fragile. In fact, they're very hardy, yet the reputation still exist.
So why do I get depressed on Sundays? I know, Monday is coming. But there may be more to it: http://url.site25.net/7i. I like my M-F job. It makes no sense that Sundays are bluer than Mondays. Thoughts? Remedies?

Yes, much more damage was done than that. It had a major negative impact on the overall economy. All sorts of sectors were knocked back a month. Safety was impaired in many areas. The extent of the ill effects may never be fully known.
