Yes, I agree that is the reason, and it is good in concept. But human nature on social media involves going in and interacting with posts (and seeing others interact with your posts). It's hard for many to wait until midnight to offer Enso just once at the end of the day.
What if the goal of Ensō is to encourage a new, more thoughtful type of social media interaction? Our "human nature" on how we interact online isn't written into our DNA. It is up to us to be the change we want to see in the (social media) world! ;)

paying for #number of actions can also lead to aristocracy of opinion (wealthier people can post more) or can be a great quality filter
At current gas costs, you can post 15 peeps for about $0.02 USD.. That is less that a penny for your thoughts!
@bevan has also mentioned exploring a pool of resources to allow those with limited access to ETH and less fortunate peeple access to charitable funds for peeping. ;)

Today I'm presenting Peepeth -Ethereum and IPFS integration- to a group of entrepreneurs. Any advise or remarks?
The presentation to a group of entrepreneurs should be less daunting than the remarks about making the presentation which are now immutably hashed and stored on the etherchain. ;)

Zero barrier to entry to someone building yet-another-twitter clone. What reason other than "it's on the blockchain" and early adopter usage? Tweet length content tends to be very ephemeral, so it has less reason to be on a blockchain than other systems
Welcome @boris! The cool thing about peeps is in their permanence versus the fleeting nature of tweets. It takes some getting used to, but the lack of a delete and edit button may be incentive to craft more thoughtful content rather than the mindless splatter seen other places.

Given the necessity of Metamask for login, how do we get Peepeth on mobile? @Bevan
Huge fan of #Trust wallet for mobile. Easy to import existing wallets, the project is entirely open source and on github, and the developer ( @vikmeup ) is super responsive, cool, and passionate about the project.
That said, you should try all three (#Toshi, #Trust, #Cipher)

I am pretty sure @bevan said the name only gets the arrow box next to the tip if the tipper leaves a comment, otherwise the tip is just there and the recipient can see who sent it, but not everyone else can. Not a bug.

How does everyone feel about ensō? Personally, I'm loving it! I was wondering if it should be batch-able though... would raising it's cost make it even more effective/ an even stronger signal? Or is the 24 hour time limit enough? I will go on record against an ensō sorted page.
I love the concept of ensō! I think the one to give per 24 hours is a perfect way to make you think before just "liking" everything you see. It encourages the thought that blockchain permanence deserves.
I agree with not having a "sort-by" ensō page to counter the spambot effect

I agree 100% here. By showing who has accumulated more "stuff" (followers, ensō, tips, etc..), we would be encouraging and reenforcing the same mindless "follow based on how much stuff you've got" paradigm that exists on other networks...
By making that "stuff" less of a horse race/competition, we have a unique opportunity to foster a more organic follower base that lends a voice even to the newest to join. In true peepeth form, who you decide to follow shouldn't be a kneejerk reaction; it should be thoughtful. ;)
Replying to @CallMeGwei (0x285bc660aa42b8effc6c60357cd4d8ca072be625)
But if we weight everything according to costs... then we are giving people with lesser means less of an opportunity to steer discussion. I like the notifications that say - *people you follow* gave enso /here/... or tipped /this/ - which we don't have on Peepeth yet.

One more thing. Peepeth should reveal links, not their titles. It's safe to reveal links. It can be very dangerous to obscure links with titles. 1. Link Title (Nice but dangerous.) 2. reallink.whatever (Ugly but safe.)
I think this is on the board already, but just in case..

Bug reports: 1. The media doesn't come over with the Tweet: https://twitter.com/cryptophilip/status/984952181693603842 2. A link to the original content on Peepeth is not included. These are important.
+1 to link to Peepeth.com article, although this would need to count against the chartacter limit and may get tricky.. Perhaps generate a bit-ly link and decuct the allowed character count?

If you consider FB and Twitter to be the last generation of networks, most new networks are focused on either being ephemeral (snap, insta) or having lasting permanence (this). Two divergences from FB/TWT's center. Or have we learned different channels for diff conversations?
The concept of conversational permanence may attract a different user base and inspire a new kind of dialogue than either facebook or Twitter bring to the table. The format is similar, but having your words permanently transcribed onto the chain makes you stop and think first. ;)
You rock man! Bookmarks are a killer good bonus. Thank you sir. ;)

I've already been thinking what type of scams and shilling are going to commence. Where do you even start with governing and preventing something like that on open social network with permanent posts. Is it even possible?
[US] "Check out this awesome platform! It is totally censorship free and immutable; the epitome of free speech!"
[ALSO US] "We need to come up with a way to impose limits on this 'free speech' stuff to prevent abuse." 🤔

@Bevan has consistently rocked about giving kudos and credit to those who came before and built decentralized social platforms (like #Leeroy) that paved the way for #Peepeth. Even though this has been a "solo" project thus far, it has taken a community to help build and grow. ;)

All three are improving all the time. Check gas prices on https://www.ethgasstation.info #Cipher and #Trust allow you to set gas prices (though until next update #Trust has a minimum of 1 gwei). Tonight I am using #Cipher with #Trust for notifications and automagic tokens.
I have all three on my phone, but since I learned about #Trust's automagic tokens and they became the first platform to show the #DEEZ icon next to the tokens in a wallet, they have my undying loyalty. The open source attitude perfectly embodies the principles of web 3.0!
