In 5 days I'll be leaving. I wanted to leave everyone with real things to consider and real hope; I think, I think I might've. But eventually I'll come back to visit, give another support group and maybe cook a gumbo. It's the first shelter to take feedback from a resident.

LOL @pluma, from a chef's perspective, is this the one of the top 3 compliments a chef can get? What do you like hearing about your creations? Taste would probably be the number one, then, I guess, visual appeal.
it is often hard to get feedback for pastry specifically, so i like hearing anything. i guess the best thing i'd like to hear is that the meal was memorable because of dessert. also hearing that my work has made it onto social media (i.e. the gram) is pretty cool. 😅

update: the pom seeds became part of this dessert. 60% ganache tart, pom jam, sour cream chantilly, white chocolate salted toffee. #pastrypeep #eatatpeepeth

I was researching decentralised apps on the blockchain for a project I'm working on that also considers using a blockchain. Was skeptical at first because I saw so many apps which only seemed to be about money that I was delighted to see the friendly penguin. And now I'm in love.

It is by serendipity that I'll be leaving the shelter in a week. Not everyone is as fortunate as me, and it breaks my heart that it is so. When I go, I hope to leave the shelter better than I found it, and those within more equipped to return to the world when they do.

Just had a wonderful flight with @SingaporeAir. They have fantastic inflight meals + entertainment systems, very nice planes and flight attendants, and the airport is easy to get around. If you get a chance to layover in SIN, do it my friends.

I guess it's like the volume of music. Some would like it quiet, some would like it loud, but most of us actually enjoy the volume that's somewhere in the middle. And the debate where's the middle is the freedom of speech.
#lkie this analogy. we must also remember that many of us in first world/more socialist or democratic nations are at a much greater advantage than those who are not in regard to free speech. twitter's right as a private company to censor pales in comparison to a great firewall.
