What does Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Muammar al-Gaddafi, and Yasser Arafat all have in common? Acording to wikipedia they all visited Peleș Castle. Arguably the most elegant castle in the Carpathian Mountains, and home of the most impressive squirrels I have seen #acrossRomania

One of just a handful of shots I got on my very brief trip to the Grand Canyon. It's moments like these you wish you had a better camera to truly capture what the human eye can really take in on a site like this. #Epic #grandcanyon #arizona #landscape #nature #lookout

My uncle Lincoln passed away yesterday afternoon. He was a great man — thoughtful, kind, witty, brave, and incredibly intelligent. I admire him for so many things but the first that comes to mind is his exceptional grasp of the English language - E.G. https://bit.ly/2MDDOrG

Haha! The Oakland regional park system does this too. Maybe they're the same goats? The shepherd lives right there in the park too, apparently, as a small trailer appears with the goats.
that would be quite the trip for the goats to make! interestingly, the shepherd was not immediately on-site, but the goat dog was working solo within the gate. he didn't like us much when we approached. can't say i blame him, as he was trying to work!

Cryptocurrency and blockchain are great equalizers. dApp Wallets & zeroNets are the first steps toward freedom from tyrannical invasion of privacy. Creating "classes" of people, however, defeats that purpose. Anyway. I'll shut up now. I know I drag the conversation down.
and please don't feel like you need to shut yourself up. there are many challenges to face and overcome and we have to be honest about them. all that being, i meant it when i said i respect you and i am glad you're here.

even if i don't agree that the intent is as you say or feel it is, i have to say that i am glad the conversation has been had. we need to have this kind of discourse, or nothing ever gets done. we need to see things from as many perspectives as possible.

That point was rather direct and simple: speaking idealistically and generally does nothing to actually address the limitations created by decisions made for this platform. The choice to give people who offered more money in crowdfunding larger character limits is divisive.
i think you are choosing to see it as divisive when it really isn't. this is no different from other crowdfunding campaigns in which participants are given rewards for backing. but nowhere is peepeth trying to exclude its users in the long term.

I don't see why you would say this. Nothing I said was a condemnation of your wealth; the only reason I could imagine you would say that you won't be made to feel bad is because you DID feel bad. But I didn't make you feel that way. You chose to, instead of recognising my point.
i didn't mean to say you specifically were making me feel bad, but you having brought up wealth the way you did is not the first time i've heard it. on some level, of course i feel bad, even if i can't help the situation. that's the natural empathetic side in me.

And to the point of "accessibility for all," those who cannot meet the level of wealth considered minimum wage in the first world, or live in a stark third world, are granted no easier access to Peepeth by the crowdfunding of others. Idealistic as it may be, it is still a bubble.
i respect you, @sevvie, and have seen you post about your story. i’m glad you’re here, sharing your thoughts. they are incredibly important not only for the platform, but for the space as a whole. it is proof that we are diverse but continuously requiring evolution as well. 6

we often say, “there is only so much i can do”, which sounds lazy, but it is the absolute truth. not one person can give everything to provide for everyone. we have to help each other, the best we can, even if it is small. even acknowledgement is better than complete ignorance. 5

re: wealth, i'm just going to say that i can't help where i was born and in what conditions i was raised. i will never not acknowledge that i am at an advantage over many others in this world, but i also won’t be made to feel bad about where i’ve gotten myself in life thus far. 4

does that mean that they don’t deserve to use or access peepeth? absolutely not. but even if on a smaller scale peepeth can grant accessibility and create awareness of crypto/blockchain for the layman/woman, then it can be considered successful (imo). 3

so when i say “accessible for all”, i agree it is idealistic when we include literally everyone in the world who can or will get online. that would be amazing, but even i know it isn’t entirely feasible, especially for those who live in disadvantaged or gov't censored nations. 2

i suppose my statement about accessibility could have been more concise, but it remains. however, to broaden the scope to major third world issues is a bit much. should they be acknowledged? of course. can this platform solve the biggest ones? unlikely.

If there is one fact that bothers me more than any other about Peepeth, it is that because I am poor, I will always be restricted to saying less, per post, than wealthy crowdfunders.
also, many of us who contributed are every day folks and are not wealthy, regardless of the amount we put forth. please remember that peepeth is still in the early stages and the crowdfunding is merely a vector to create pathways in order to make peepeth accessible for all

there will be ways for newer/free users to earn these perks but they need to be funneled in a way that will discourage spam (among other things). i'm sure @bevan would appreciate any ideas you may have. peepeth is not trying to create a rich vs poor gap here by any means.

It is infeasible for me to even think I might be able to donate any amount to the crowdfunding, for this, as much as it bothers me. I would love to support the project and, in turn, increase my voice on the platform through greater character counts. Instead I am forced to "spam".
FWIW, i don't see you having to make multiple peeps at the current character cap as "spam". but i do understand what you're saying, and it is a valid concern. your willingness to want to contribute certainly doesn't go unnoticed. you using peepeth at all is a huge contribution!

Interestingly, it puts shepherds at the same level as firefighters https://www.kenkoskela.com/photo/the-shepherd/
beautiful photos. i'd have to agree. fire prevention matters are often overlooked, but they are more important now than ever for this state. the fires and the weather contributing to them are only going to get worse. we need to be prepared in the ways we can control.
