absolutely. i used to be quite jealous of him and his position, but realized that he began making videos not only to showcase results, but also to share many of his techniques. the fact that he wants to share that knowledge freely with the world is wonderful.

haha no, i don't have my own shop, but i am currently brainstorming some crypto-for-pastries ideas. :) thanks for asking! it's an exciting time not just for techies but for doers and makers as well!

Note, I'm not judging peepeth or it's developer here. I just think it's a valid concern : having a platform that's accessible for everyone, funded by people who want to support it, and giving them something in return, without giving them undue advantage over free users.
that's the aim, and there could be ways for free users to earn special features as well. :) this is still evolving, still growing. your ideas and concerns are valid.

So it's costing Peepeth. That means they have an incentive to make that money back. One way to do so is to provide special features for money ( like higher char limit) . The rich still get an advantage over the poor. Whether this is good or bad, I don't know. We'll find out :-)
just to give a little perspective, "they" is one person. @bevan developed and runs peepeth. while there is the possibility that subscriptions/microtransactions could be considered in the future for funding, it's definitely not the rich piggybacking on the poor kind of deal here.

Out of curiosity. It’s interesting who is getting into this space early. I’m a sales trainer in San Francisco, but seriously curious, what does the community look like? What do you guys do? Where on the map do you fall? Are we all close to Silicon Valley? Just thinking...
in CA, probably 3 hours from SV. not somewhere i can afford to or even want to be lol. i have a very non-technical background (pastry arts), but have enjoyed being and learning in this space on my own for some time now. everybody matters and has something to teach.

The big expensive buffets are a lot of fun, but you never get the best food there. The Jean Philippe Patisserie in the Aria hotel had much higher quality.
the symmetry in displays like these is so unnerving, lol. i love it. this is definitely amaury gichon's work and legacy. he's one of the best young pastry chefs of this generation.

I'm been trying to eat low carb lately, so my favorites are mostly fresh fruits with unsweetened whipped cream. I tried to make low sugar coconut flour brownies recently, but that didn't turn out so great.
i did fall off the wagon after starting this job, though. coconut flour is hard to work with due to its elasticity/tendency to absorb liquid. have you tried almond flour? there are also ways to make brownies with avocado, if you're feeling adventurous!

ah yeah, i was doing keto/low-carb for a while as well. i've made many things in regard to pasty successfully mostly with monkfruit sugar. i do bulletproof coffee every morning still and use it in that since i don't want that pure sugar boost too early. :)

Where are your favorite kinds of desserts? Have you sampled the many desserts in a decent Vegas buffet?
i haven't been yet haha! i really want to go! i know some of the hotels have impressive dessert offerings and displays. my favorite kinds i think are more rustic/traditional: tarts, parfaits, pies, etc. chocolate and fruit flavors are nice, if done right. how about you?

So you are saying that each post is up to your own decision of if it's deemed worth or not? Saying screw something might or might not be something you like and therefore may get deleted from the "front end"? I don't like what I'm hearing.
peepeth is a community, and as a community it strives to abide by the TOS.
btw, i agree with you, full on. but being proactive instead of reactive tends to be more helpful with learning and moving forward.

As the creator of lkie I agree that it is a bit dumb. I would prefer a reaction or even an emoji than a hashtag.
i love it because of its history but have considered it a placeholder of sorts for the time being. i also only reserve it for a select few peeps a day (kinda like a "soft" enso) in order to not bunch up the firehose.
