Pic and article about a recently photographed supermassive black hole in Messier 87. It contains the mass of 6.5 billion suns.

Being physically present in a courtroom, passing judgment according to laws written by people decades ago (with uncertain legitimacy) seems like a bit of an antiquated theater to me. I've never been on a jury. I would be more inclined to participate if it were less archaic.
Agreed & there's still an issue with lawyers trying to sway jurors using psych tactics rather than presenting the case's best facts objectively. Judges are often solid though when it comes to weighing the information available and calling bull on lies or ruling on the objections
A great 4 pg paper on Antoni Kepinski's Information Metabolism. He was a Polish psychiatrist popular for his research on schizophrenia.

I haven’t read that yet, nor have I heard of cultural intelligence or quantum organizations. Why do you recommend learning about them? I like learning about language and group dynamics, so there might be an overlap
Here's a short article about quantum organizations. The basic idea is about building awareness and consciousness to allow for self-organization.

I love studying leadership. 2 thoughts I have: 1. "Wisdom is earned by a lifetime of listening when you would rather talk" (heard it from Finding My Virginity by Richard Branson) 2. Real leaders sacrifice what they could be so that those they lead can achieve their potential...
Nice, if you haven't yet, look into emotional intelligence by Daniel Goleman, not necessarily the book but the concepts--solid leadership material.
If anyone's got some recommended readings about cultural intelligence or quantum organizations please let me know!

"Leading up the chain"/working for yourself even under another person's leadership --> absolutely. I've noticed that most leaders also agree, but have trouble implementing this. Under pressure, most will still go with "my way or the highway." A truly good leader is rare.
After seeing this thread I checked out leading up the chain and found a solid article, great stuff. Anyone interested in culture, leadership and organizations, check it out

#lkie Your flower pictures remind me of the kaleidoscope pics you used to peep.
I actually still have a few more kaleidoscope pics left to put up.. since it wasn't mine I took all those pics in one day. But these flower pics are mostly stumbled upon on dog walks, so we'll see what else spring brings

Awesome! I used to make kombucha as well. When I get back I'm going to experiment with water kefir.
Nice, any bucha brewing tips? I've got to check out kefir, I don't know hardly anything about it.

Are you making kombucha? What kind?
Yep this batch is probably 80% assam and 20% green tea. The scoby really liked assam dominant batches, maybe from the high caffine content. Been brewing with oolong and jasmine green (all organic) too lately, since I'm new to brewin I've been testing different blends.
Both composition and structure are considerably large elements of perception. If you’re unhappy with something, either change its structural organization or change its compositional design with a plan in mind.

(reply to @Alexeth on @peepethApp 🐧🔄) Sick - I've been recommended to read Kant for a long time by @IAmMarkManson but this might tip me over the edge: "Kant argues that space and time are merely formal features of how we perceive objects, not things in themselves"
Kant is phenomenal. I'm still reading through The Metaphysics of Morals, but in my opinion he is one of the guys who "gets it". His ability to abstract is extraordinary.. which can make it tough to read sometimes. Check out his Critique of Pure Reason or Metaphysics of Morals

It's entirely possible, in my mind, that the entire physical world we see and feel is an elaborate dream - allowing unexplainable things to happen. But simultaneously I can't stop myself from being a skeptic and asking "how's it possible?" I want to come up with some ideas...
