For me, it's the Feed, Sharing updates, pics, videos and organizing friends into lists so I can share targetedly. Literally everything else is easily lost. Plus the ads and tracking just make me mad!

Really holding out hope for a Peepeth like solution to IG/FB similar. The Activity Pub (Mastodon/Friendica/Diaspora/etc) do good at the removing of centralization, but don't aid in the privatization.

I believe it is because we no longer have to face people and articulate our views. Social media has robbed an entire generation of the ability to think before they speak because they don't have to see who they are speaking to. What's worse, it has expanded to our governments.
