Making good on one of my New Years' resolutions. #newRecipes
Exotica at the Berkeley Bowl. Always fun to shop there.
Was supposed to turn red, but didn't seem to. "Super Blood Wolf"? You be the judge :)
Did anyone else peep the lunar eclipse tonight?

Too many started but not enough finished. The ones I'm working on right now are Nihongo Fun & Easy and CS Lewis's The Space Trilogy.
I'm also a book juggler. I sometimes think I'd get more benefit out of reading just one (non-fiction) book really well, and earnestly implementing its suggestions, than more hastily reading several on the same subject which is what I tend to do.

Best day of 2019 yet. 🇸🇪 Saturday, in Sweden ❄️ Cold swim (likely my last time with long hair) 🌳 Forest walk 🔥 Sauna (with spring water and Falcon beer) 👥 Talking & playing (Swedish lang) board games with friends old & new 🧠 12 git commits on TxBatch v2, thanks to snus
Are you cutting your hair because of the workout / outreach challenge?

There's so much junk in the world it's amazing. The problem for retail now is that even the poor in developed countries have too much junk. They get us hooked on shopping, then we get saturated with crap. Now what? Maybe next they'll sell incinerators.
There may be a gradual evolution towards having less. The idea of minimalism / essentialism seems to be popular in more affluent places. As wealth grows I think that'll spread, although it may get much worse before it gets better. #peakStuff

Sounds like a full day! My best days typically also involve cold water and the forest.

#lkie I'm working through some marketing books at the moment; Seth Godin and "Building a Story Brand".
And Anthony Bourdain's "Medium Raw".

I wish we knew more about each other. I wish we could not just empathize, but actually experience being each other, for just a bit. I mean personally, 1:1. The person on the subway, your neighbor, your partner. We're so caught up in ourselves, like a prison. Wouldn't it be great?
Well said. I like to imagine that a documentary could be made about anyone's life, showing their trials as well as successes. Everyone has a story; keeping that top of mind when dealing with others is hard but important.

“In the 1960s, the sugar industry funded research that downplayed the risks of sugar and highlighted the hazards of fat” https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/09/13/493739074/50-years-ago-sugar-industry-quietly-paid-scientists-to-point-blame-at-fat
Was interesting to read Gary Taubes' book Why We Get Fat, which explores the history of ideas about saturated fat and carbs, including industry shenanigans.

The purpose of meditation is not to resist thought, but rather notice the thought, then let it go. Use a central focus like the breath. Breath, thoughts arise, note it, return to breath, repeat. #mindfulmondays

I think it's because natural gas escapes the earth from that point. Would be cool to see it in person.

Life’s too short to wear boring socks. These have a nice (probably unintentional) meaning: “No worries / The bank’s paying” And then you think about it... when’s the last time we actually owned our money? When we transacted directly? Gold, silver, $BTC :)
#lkie However I've been sockless for years (Crocs).

@Bevan you didn't replied: why Peepeth isn't open-source?
You didn’t ask. I think having a well-defined brand (beyond “decentralized social media”) is a prerequisite for widespread usage, which is a main reason this front-end is closed source. Note however that Peepeth data is open, so anyone is free to make another front-end.

Those were pretty cool. Haven't seen one in awhile.
Would be cool to see commentary for startups, ie vlogs to show what's going on behind the scenes.
