I like some sweet with my spice. I add peppers to BBQ sauce and General Tsao's sauce. I never thought about a spicy fish sauce though. Oyster sauce is also pretty great for that deep umami flavor.

I first tried the chilis in fish sauce in Vietnam, where it's a pretty ubiquitous condiment. I like the oyster sauce too.

More likely a 4x4 or motorcycle 😅

Those sound like good options. I forget if I posted about Göran Kropp before, who biked through that region on his way to Everest:

https://www.elitereaders.com/man-climbed-mt-everest-alone-goran-kropp/?cn-reloaded=1

His book "Ultimate High" got me excited about overland travel.

What kind of sauce do you plan to make?

Very simple ones, just adding them to fish sauce (southeast asian style) and to vinegar.

Nice! Is the plan to connect the dots by bike one day?

If Peepeth's user registry isn't in one single file, where these user's registries are stored? It uses OrbitDb and sharding? How that is indexed in a decentralized manner?

Good question. Account data is indexed in the same manner as peeps on the blockchain. Originally, all usernames were stored in the contract storage space itself, but now it's free to sign up and storing your username in that manner is optional.

A friend from camp used LJ and brought me into her college world. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2019/01/the-linux-of-social-media-how-livejournal-pioneered-then-lost-web-blogging/

"We had basically all the major features you see today, like a friends page. But we didn’t quite figure out how to tell the story..."

Peepeth needs to do a better job of that too. Great read, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the welcome, Mario. Less touristy natural wonders or historical sites? Google these places: Chogha Zanbil, Shushtar historical hydraulic system (both are famous but usually not on the list of tours), Ecbatana, Takhte Soleyman, Mesr village, Javaher Dasht, Hormuz island

Thanks for sharing; I now have some more pins on my "want to go" map :)

As there is a limit of one image per post on @Peepeth, you could implement of image signing. Good for proof of existence when you post original images

Images aren't directly signed, but proof of existence is still accomplished because the IPFS hash of the image is included within a peep, which is included in a batch. So the IPFS hash of the batch takes into account the image.

Peepeth's IPFS user batches also contains some actions, such as following users. Enso is also registered? Is the all-users public registry stored on IPFS?

Yep, Ensō are in the batches as well. The user registry is not in one single file unfortunately.

I didn't say that one should speak out loud every thought. :) Sometimes it's better to just think than talk. But if it's time to tell somebody smth, it's better to tell the truth. Will see to check the book out. Thanks for the recommendation.

There's another book called Radical Honesty by Brad Blanton that advocates "telling it like it is", not withholding anything- at lleast that's what I remember of it. Reminds me of the Jim Carrey movie :)

The Lying audiobook is narrated by the author, not a bad way to read it

48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene has some good related ideas to this I think are worth entertaining. However, I disagree. (& I disagree with the examples too - is "really fat/sexy/ugly" true?) Lying for me has always been out of fear. In my experience truth is always kinder.

Although many will attest to wanting to be told the truth (including me), telling it un-tactfully can sour relationships. I think our lizard brains know that, and create resistance / fear to truth-telling. *Tactfully* overriding that instinct is a worthwhile exercise.

Replying to @GoldenWiseDuck (0x56627819b7622ac4b2f248d6c45c9c71f4865730)

I think honesty is still the best policy. Sure, it's offending to tell someone that he 'looks fat' but one can only change smth if he/she knows the truth. For me it's better to have a few honest beople around than a dozen of lies going through the days. Life is hard these days.

I agree. However, I think one can be honest without volunteering every thought that comes to mind :)

Sam Harris wrote a great and very short essay/book called Lying about the value of *always* telling the truth, something almost nobody does.
