I love that the idea of doing a Kickstarter seems closer to you than the idea of doing an ICO :P On the same note, kudos to @vikmeup for the decision to not go through with yours and putting the project first. #lkie
Thanks for confirming. Seems like there are a number of good reasons to do a Kickstarter rather than an ICO (which never really seemed like a good idea).
Haha, thanks Viktor, will keep you updated :)

Haven't done a Kickstarter. Have you considered Disrupt SF on Sep 5-7? They have a Startup Alley where you can exhibit. Attendees include investors and press. Cost looks pretty reasonable. I'm sure you can even have a Peepeth version of Kickstarter to help cover your costs.
Thanks for mentioning! Have added this to my calendar (but not sure yet if I can make it).

I certainly have had much better luck with the browser than I had with the Toshi app. I have only gotten 1 IPFS error in the browser. Still haven't gotten around to learning as much about IPFS as I'd like.
Such IPFS errors when peeping should be a thing of the past (since #speedpeeping was enabled last week); please let me know if you see one again.

Don't ICO - Kickstarter it. I have some basic developer experience but, more importantly, I know some people that can help you. Hit me up on Keybase.
Thanks Derek!

Then there's audio journals. Eventually, text to speech will get nearly perfected, and when that happens, buttons will start disappearing. We'll be able to skim and scan audio files without listening to them, which we can't really do now efficiently and reliably (can we?)
That's interesting. Vlogging would even add another level of context. I did that some years ago, and when I come across those files I'm glad I made the effort.

Another time sucker is Whatsapp esp if you are part of many groups... i wanted to do an social media detox and i got myself a nokia 1100 which can just do calls that period was really good and productive
That sounds nice. One thing i've enjoyed is turning off all push notifications so I have to actively check for messages.

@bevan okay, what did you do...saving to IPFS is now like instant...u r genius!!!
Haha, that's #speedpeeping, we can thank our #peepleader @abcoathup for being the catalyst for that.

Hey everyone! Hope your week is off to a good start.
I've been thinking about doing a Kickstarter to help take Peepeth to the next level (good native app + Web2-level usability + better design, branding, and user education). Has anyone done one before, or have any thoughts?

I stopped here to admire the view...and to rub some alcohol onto a bite mark made by a dog in a village just a half mile away. It ran after me even after the owner shouted that she mustn't do that. I didn't see her coming and it felt like I was hit with a stone #acrossRomania
Wow. Glad it wasn't any worse; and that the sun it out. Looks like an amazing road for biking, dogs aside!

The center is full of locals, instead of tourists, green area felt multidimensional and interactive. Unfortunately, I was not able to capture the spirit I felt, so you'll have to find satisfaction in architectural details #acrossRomania :)
Sounds great, especially for an industrial city. Would like to check it out.

I haven't seen any tipping on Peepeth lately so, here's a tip for you @bevan. Thanks again for creating Peepeth and all the work you have devoted to it. For everyone else, if you like the content you see on Peepeth, you can show your appreciation with a tip or Enso (or both) #tip

my motto for food these days pretty much is, "whatever's clever". hit me! :) and if time permits, i'll try to walk around as well (especially after eating, haha).
I like the Southeast Asian options here. Burma Superstar (three locations) is really good if you arrive early (no reservations, popular), and there are a number of good Thai places. Gordo and Taqueria Sinaloa are good taco standbys. I'm getting hungry now! :)

i am from the railroad city to the east, in placer county. trains everywhere! oldtown sac is still pretty nifty to visit, too. definitely need to make a bay area run. i'll be picking up my car in oakland eventually. anything cool to see down there? places to eat?
The east bay has some cool neighborhoods and a lot of good eateries; what kind of food do you like?
My favorite part of the east bay (you guessed it) is the long ridge of hills / parks running north-south. There are all kinds of gems scattered about, though.

Yes i noticed this too when you attach the photos taken vertically while attaching they are turned 90 degrees but after posting it shows correctly @bevan might be this is a front end issue?
It is, I've bumped this up on my list. They always display ok after uploading, just not in that preview window. Thanks for mentioning.

Nice #peepgraph! Peepeth has some important usability improvements in the pipeline, so not too concerned by the June figures. To many, it's just a technical curiosity at the moment, and that's fine for now.

Ok, just paid money to write my first 15 transactions to the blockchain. (Not sure what value proposition that has for me though. Why not just keep using IPFS for free and save money)
I feel your pain! As @nateStipe mentioned, free peeping becomes enabled after you've achieved one of several milestones. After that, you sign your actions (free), and Peepeth batches them and sends them to the blockchain.
Replying to @doodlemania (0xa3ffa423140b730c0c2e1cc412a80cc49f125c01)
That makes perfect sense but am still curious how this approach adds to security if the app is just a wrapper. Perhaps it's not just a wrapper and something more?
I think it's also because users don't always check the URL before entering their keys (despite the clear warnings). Sounds like a necessary move even though it may inconvenience some users at first.

@abcoathup has anyone set up a Twitter <β> PeepETH bridge yet? New tweets automatically get peeped.
That's a cool idea. I'm not sure if it's possible but will look into it (please correct me if I'm wrong).
However, you can automatically Tweet your Peeps, by clicking "Settings" from the dropdown menu. You can choose whether to include a link back to your Peep.

It is indeed very peaceful, especially with the sound of seagulls - interesting as we're nowhere near the sea! Just waiting to cover the floor with fake grass now.
That's really cool. I wonder if making your dwelling look like nature gives you benefits of "green space" (from @albertc's peep):

was reading about computational inequality (i.e. people in developing countries have smartphones/comps but can't run many mainstream applications). something like peepeth is pretty lightweight right? maybe we should look to places w/o a strong existing social media infrastructure
#lkie The current usability issues (including ETH to sign up / post) are not insurmountable.

Any thoughts on why dApps haven't gone mainstream yet?
I agree with the previous comments. I'm confident dapp usability will get a lot better soon though, for certain types of dapps at least.

Just decided I will no longer set up @peepethApp to post my replies to Twitter anymore - found out a lot of no-context Tweets were getting sent out. Oops. Lol.
Thanks for reporting. Even if you have Tweet default on, it should be off by default on replies. Will investigate.

@Bevan @Kumaran thanks, did not notice the "Misc" button. IMO this should be in the "Account" section of settings popup. Also, I can't change my name from "lev" to "Lev" as it complains about it already being registered. I guess it should check whether its registered by me first.
Ah, yes, the contract won't allow it. You'd have to change it to a different name first. I've changed the case of your name manually on the front-end.
