#lkie. hope you had a great hike!
It's funny, I don't think I was actually having a good time that day (was sick or something), but now, years later, I remember it as being awesome. #type2fun
Lizard brain: source of flame wars?
"neuroscientist Paul Mclean ... referred to the lizard brain as responsible for “species-typical behaviours” which arise in aggression, dominance, territoriality and ritual displays."

NB: the politics hashtag is opt-in. Please add it as a courtesy to others.
All replies to political peeps are also hidden by default, with the same warning.
It may look like people are tagging your posts, but they're just replying and tagging their own.

Thanks :) @Bevan, I see Peepeth.com is still not registered as a part of the BAT ecosystem :)
I know, I still have to get on that :)

#lkie Will the drag-and-drop feature allow for copy-pasting images directly into the peep?
Most likely.

@jm9k created such a nice enhancer for Peepeth! At the moment it allows you to uncover all the political and Rick Astley tags, automatically loads new peeps AND a beautiful dark mode. You need Tampermonkey extension and the script https://goo.gl/H2ACcC
Really nice work @jm9k! The night mode looks really good.

2 Features I really miss in @peepeth currently: - autocomplete usernames when mentioning - pasting images directly into the peep
Thanks for suggesting. Autocomplete and drag-and-drop for images are on the way.

Quick, what’s the best place you’ve ever been lost?
I guess there are degrees of being lost. I can't remember being truly lost except as a kid, in a redwood forest (I was quickly found). That was a terrifying experience, lol.
@rdbilly @romanstennine Peepeth.com is a moderated platform. If you're looking for an unmoderated experience, check out Minds or Gab. Am making this more clear on Peepeth.

Hello everyone from Alaska! The chill is starting, the tourists are leaving and our quiet little towns are returning to normal. Before you know it we will be riding snowmachines and skiing. Fishing is almost over and we are venturing into the wild in search of moose.
Welcome Curtis! Beautiful first peep.

Tomorrow I officially anglicize my name to James Scaur. Random side benefits: *J.S. = JS = JavaScript *James (5) + Scaur (5) = even 10 *Scaur backwards sounds like Rocks with a weird accent *Scaur.nz domain wasn't taken (it's now mine) *I change it same day as my 20th birthday
Happy birthday, James! 🎂🎂🎂
Congrats again on the name change :)

I've been lost in the woods on the CDT in New Mexico. The CDT at the time was less of a trail than a path on maps. I wish we could combine questions like this with bounty features such as at https://beta.cent.co/ You could get many more replies! (@bevan)
That would indeed be a cool integration.

i had re-peeped your announcement, not replied. and i didn't put anything there lol, just simply hit the button. that's so weird! a bug, perhaps? @bevan
Yes, that's a bug in how Peepeth displays repeeps. Everything is right on the blockchain though.

I'm not sure if I understand correctly. When I transact, there is "Save to blockchain" but the pop-up doesn't show me a hash/link. And also, even if it matches the web3-provider data, it could've been manipulated before that, right?
Oh, you're right, there's no preview for batch-saved actions yet. Have added to the list.
I was talking about batch-signing for free peeping (https://peepeth.com/help/signing) which you should qualify for pretty soon.

@bevan A feature request, if you could. I doubt it'd be something that is needed in the future, but for the time being it seems like the only way to check my notifications is to refresh the page. Could clicking the "Show new peeps" button query for notifications, as a stopgap?
Good idea, have added it to the list!

I never noticed til now - shared peeps have 3 letter shortlinks. What system are you using for this @Bevan? https://twitter.com/JamesScaur/status/1035320882321940480
It counts up in base62 I believe.

Not particularly. My business operates primarily in San Diego (http://whole-systems-enterprises.com) but I do not see clients every day. Rosarito lies just 48 km south from San Diego. So I can cross the border on the few days a week I work directly with clients.
That's really cool. I've only been to Baja once, but loved it. Great that it's so close to "work" for you; how long is the commute across the border?

This is important, was going to look into how it works when I had time but would love to hear from @bevan :)
Yes, see my response to marceljay. Peepeth shows you the IPFS hash you're about to sign, which you can inspect before signing.
Replying to @marceljay (0xbfab3fa9fbc422e9202558b3c51c2d1d0b2ba551)
@Bevan is there an integrated and simple way to verify that whatever message I sign is what I intended to do? Since the message is (probably) forever written to the chain how can I be sure it was not manipulated in between the websites UI and metamask?
Yes, when Peepeth's sign dialog pops up, it shows you the IPFS hash you're about to sign. If you click the hash (it's a link), it will show you the contents on ipfs.io.
So, you can then verify that the hash matches what your Web3 provider shows you.

Let me share with you a Vietnamese noodle soup. Vietnamese people like to eat Pho. It is pronounce as English "Fur." It is made out of beef broth and noodle. A lot of the time it has beef or chicken and noodle. We eat it with veggies and hot sauce. It is best serve hot.
+1 for pho! This clip is not about pho, but it (and Bourdain's other episodes on Vietnam) partly inspired me to visit:
