Design is empathy made tangible and is more about the way something works than the way it looks.

I like that. I liked that enough to pin it and think about it for a while.

Thank you.

What would design look like if I were to reduce the case study for each dribbble down to less than 280 characters? Or what would design look like if I were to reduce each of my case studies down to one case study? Bear in mind, I use the word 'design' as a verb (not a noun).

I'll take the latter. Your broad philosophy of design - so to speak - in one peep.

So Toshi is now 'Coinbase Wallet'. I suppose a rebranding is a logical step for them, but considering they already have their exchange-app with an integrated wallet the wording of this change makes me confused, and I would assume new users even more so. Or is it just me?

Probably should have bee dApp wallet - but then the name is too long. This will confuse people a little, but I think they can cope.

@darius Is this a good question for you?

Aug 21, 2018 06:46

no problem, I'll be more sparing with my dribbbles.

Thank you for understanding. The link previews just take up so much space.

Keep Peeping!

If you had to sum up design to a single peep - with no links. What would that look like?

🤔

@bevan what’s the story with that rug/tapestry you are standing in front of in the Kickstarter?

OOOOH! I would also like to hear this story!

I noticed you have a 13 day peepstreak and quite a few followers for this little network. Do you work with @bevan and team on @peepeth?

@bevan has a ton of passionate Peepeth users - and @pluma is chief among them. But, at the end of the day, even the most enthusiastic of us are just users.

I'm not sure. For some reason I think I've seen some other Peeple using Spanish around here, too.

Regardless - welcome to Peepeth!

@darius all the links are great, but since we're all basically using the "firehose" feed - maybe you could put a little more time in between your links?

The problem with mobile (assuming you want a native/non-web app) is every app will be forced to implement a full fledged wallet with seed import until we get native Ethereum support. At least on iPhone, i don't see this coming soon :[

Apple will eventually give in - when their users demand it. Things like Peepeth will push the needle in that direction, I think.

It's coming. :-)

I havent been able to keep up with Peepeth dev updates for the last few weeks. Looking around today I am blown away by the amount of features and polish the Peepeth team has shipped. Great work!

The Peepeth dev is @Bevan, but the Peepeth "team" is @Bevan and a bunch of passionate Peeple --> And everyone supporting this project.

Come to think of it. The Peepeth "team" is the crypto "team".

The entire community. All on the same team.

Yes, yes. I'd really like to see mobile take a much higher priority in the roadmap though. I saw your reply notification in email on my phone and then still had to go to my computer.

First: AWESOME!

SECOND:

You can do mobile right now - tons of Peeple are peeping from mobile. Import your metamask seed words into a wallet on your phone.

I use Trust, but CoinbaseWallet is good, too.

Early on @James of Leeroy fame had written a simple Peepeth reader. It was hosted on and read from IPFS. The backend data structure was changed slightly some time later... making the reader obsolete. Alt front ends and pinning down the protocols are absolutely on the radar.

@Bevan has been developing Peepeth alone (bootstrapping it).

But he has drawn on the ideas and passionate opinions of several people in the blockchain space. Among all of them that I have witnessed interacting there are two themes: positivity and decentralization.

Coming along.

Will the protocol also allow other clients access to unsigned actions? Unfortunately find very little information on all this currently. Would prefer full FOSS - only a bit happy with only an open protocol. But the protocol must be really neutral then - need to investigate more.

@jm9k, myself, and a few other users have been sure to keep this on the radar. @Bevan has been working so hard to make Peepeth approachable and polished that this issue was on the back burner. That is not to say it has been forgotten. It is a huge part of the overall vision.

I would prefer to know my data is public. I can post accordingly. It can't be sold to empower a single organization. Decentralization, openness, freedom, and positivity are the goals here.

Transparency is not a "flaw" - it is a feature to spur portability and conscientiousness.

Replying to @jotun (0x784ebb37cff7f77200916470537e97a6d1d03c4c)

How do I own my data more than anyone else here? This idea seems closer to a continuous public Facebook leak and anyone can harvest data for profit.

You own your data in the sense that it cannot be held hostage. If you spend time building up a PUBLIC identity, you're wasting your time if a centralized entity can strip you of it at will.

Peepeth isn't claiming it's more *private* - there is no false sense of security there.

I'll let the firehouse answer the question but if you have the answer Gwei more power to you. What's the way to donate to the kickstarter to get credit on peepeth or should I donate via eth here if that's not possible?

To get the perks associated with the fundraiser one has two options: the Kickstarter starts today and it's fiat only.

Individuals will be able to donate ETH a while down the road (week or two?) - and there will be a specific page for doing so and getting the perks.
