Well, that makes at least four of us then...

If there was an easy to use toggle at the top of the screen for unrolling all Peeps of a certain kind - it would make discussing this issues a little less tedious. Right now, it's requiring a bunch of clicking...

To anyone upset right now - please put down your pitchforks and help brainstorm solutions. Think out loud - don't just rage out loud. Peepeth is a step in the right direction - and it is committed to continuing stepping in that direction.

No doubt about that! I hope everyone in the community realizes that. Using the community to develop the solutions to be implemented, can save everyone some time though.

To be clear - is your proposed solution that posts from people/orgs you follow *never* get rolled up? (Would that be not safe for work and political posts, etc?) Or is it that you should have broad control over which tags get rolled up? Or... ?

Actually @everyone - can you respond to this issue here? So we can organize our collective thoughts a little better.

(Additionally, if you don't mind consider the case where you are taking high blood pressure medications, have an explosive tempter, and can't read pol-it-ics.)

We're not the only ones, I'm sure. Great things about communities working together to solve tough issues likes these (and, yes, they are tough or they wouldn't be "broken" even on platforms with billions of users [thinking out loud])- is that anyone can chime in. Peepeth listens!

What if both of those suggested solutions are the wrong approach? What if tagging things isn't the real issue... this is what I think, actually... if we allow the individual control of what flags to see by default - then I think we sidestep tyranny of the algo or of the flaggers.

but then the only people gaming the system would be those not genuinely wanting to be part of the community. They would dance around the algo and flaunt their "superior algo circumvention capabilities" - heck, they'd probably offer it up to advertiser... /3

say 5% of the community had to flag it ns-fw for it to apply on the front end. Then the dev made a fair and equal rule for the application of a flag - but he can't control community response. Is this FAIR?

I agree with this 100% - but it's not as easy as it sounds. Imagine two posts with identical content. Now imagine the flags have to reach certain thresholds from the community to be applied ... /1

Public blockchains are tools for expanding freedoms of the individual.

I believe there is a "wait period" before links from a new account unfurl. This is a way to encourage active vs passive interactions for new users while they get a feel for the community.

Hypothetical: If a well-known exchange basically synonymous with high-leverage goes down for maintenance. And the price of assets traded there simultaneously spikes. Is this just playing a twisted game by the rules? Is this just making the "market more efficient"?

Thoughts on that implementation?

If it has the term democrat, republican, or election - could you flag it with #politics ? This allows people a little more fine grained control of if they want to "go there" at any given time.

That said - I don't trust any politicians to have my best interest in mind.

There's no desire to silence anyone. The're only a desire to focus on positivity on this front end. More front ends will be rolling out shortly - common back end data stores for interoperability - that will have different focuses.

There is community involvement around this project. All of your points are valid and on the the dev's radar. Whereas your (our) focus is on getting front ends decentralized as fast as possible - @Bevan wants to get users on to a healthier social media asap...
