So - supported @peepeth and wish @Bevan all the best for this crowdfunding. Still hope at that at some point it becomes fully libre software. But still alone the seed planted and some ideas in peepeth are well worth the 0.17ETH spent.

I'm sure Roger can handle a little satire.
He should. I mainly wanted to point out the contrast to "deep fake" ;-)

Hey everyone! Wanted to let you know that the new crowdfunding page will be live in a few hours. Appreciate everyone's help and patience!
Nice - looking forward to it.
I did not register as a mentor but as a hacker for @ETHBerlin - just because I like hacking way to much. But if you have a question: feel free to ask me - will for sure try to help! Here my idea for a hack: https://github.com/ethberlin-hackathon/ETHBerlin-Teambuilding/issues/32

YAY! I find the pasting feature way more important than drag&drop as I rarely drag and drop but often paste images into a tweet (or peep in the future)

@omisego Hey! Welcome on Peepeth. Are you going to verify your Twitter/GitHub accounts?
Unfortunately currently they cannot verify their github account as you cannot create a gist as organisation. Having the same problem with @walleth but @bevan hinted that this will come in the future: https://peepeth.com/WallETH/peeps/QmecpiiJms3mWQkSmcVLo8YvWBrqPJPwxAYtLwdZ6dh9nT

Thanks for posting!
Might not watched without this peep as I watched so much talks by him already. But it is so nice to be reminded again why I am into this field. As sometimes I get doubts from all the BS and greed in this space. But if we can end wars this way - all worth it..
2 Features I really miss in @peepeth currently:
- autocomplete usernames when mentioning
- pasting images directly into the peep

Peepeth points are actually referral points, they only accrue for actions of people you refer (I've made it more clear). GitHub now adds five points too, so referrals with T+G are worth 10 points. Slight changes in leaderboard. The system will be changing somewhat :)
Thanks for making this text more clear - looking forward to the changes. Keep up the good work!

Have you tried it?
No - but I also never tried jumping out of a window. But would still tell people to also not try it when someone tells them it is safe and secure ..-)
Did you dig into it or just believe their marketing claims? FYI e.g.: https://twitter.com/pavolrusnak/status/1035473520623591424

Store all your #ERC20 tokens on a @bitfi6 now! #ETH #Ethereum
Nooo - don't - let them solve their security issues first. Then consider again - would not store anything of value on such a device currently ..

Why does twitter verification gives 5 peepeth points and github verification gives none?

So - extensively tested akasha as you see in the screenshot. Works quite nice - but I fear that as soon as it moves to the main-net -> activity will be even lower (as people might not want to pay to post) than it is already on the test-net (where it is free). Now testing peepeth.
We really need alternatives to central social networks like twitter and facebook as they are really dangerous. But ideally we move to not only decentralized but also libre/FOSS and options for private communication. Cannot arrive fast enough ..-)

Slowly opening the flood gates for users as I think @walleth could be used by more than just nerds now. Increasing visibility and it is working: @walleth is not place 4 when you search for ethereum on google play Really need to get rid of this dangerous stuff on place one ..-)
not -> now ;-)
Immutability can be a real burden ..

That's an admin-only function. Tips are sent to users immediately, so there is no need to cash them out.
Ah thanks for the info. Now I see. I misunderstand the API and was not looking properly - can't wait to see the some source to really know what's going on.
Anyone knows if it is save to call cashout() on the peepeth contract? I do not find a way in the UI currently to use the tips - would love to do it as promised to @Bitcoinstacks - but after @Bevan warned me of bad effects when calling transferOwnership() I am a bit hessitant ;-)

Instead, Peepeth be trying a new crowdfunding approach. A crowdfunding page will be launched on Peepeth very soon. It will support ETH, tokens, and fiat. It’s a more appropriate solution for a community which already has a home and a native currency.
Good move!

That will not work as expected, as the front-end doesn't implement it. Contract will be released at some point, but not now.
Thanks for the info - and great to hear you are planning to release the contract source! Btw.: I am currently experiencing a bug with the notifications (I get emails but do not see recent ones in the web interface) - is this one known? Do you plan a public issue tracker?

@bevan I heard the feature to move an account to a different address is coming? This would help us porting the @gnosis account here. Is there a timeline for this already?
You might also be able to do this by hand by calling transferOwnership on 0xfa28ec7198028438514b49a3cf353bca5541ce1d
That said - I do not know if this has any side effects - unfortunately the contract code is not public - @Bevan can we at least have the contract code peeeease?

Maybe you could edit your peep once but the old one is still displayed and there is an icon displaying that the peep has been edited by the owner..
Yes I like this idea - full transparency is good. Could work the same as github is doing it now for issue edits. @bevan - what do you think?

It would be great if people could upvote issues for Remix-IDE plugins they would like to see. So @ethberlin teams know which plugins the community really wants and would use. https://github.com/ethberlin-hackathon/ETHBerlin-Teambuilding/labels/Remix-IDE%20%3Adesktop_computer%

I want to tip $5 to 10 people in 10 minutes. If you want to be one of those 10 people, simply reply to this peep with a detailed reason on what you would use the $5 of ETH for. Get creative and humor is a healthy element to throw into the mix. Try me!
Mainly want to try out the tip feature. Would use the 2$ of the 5 to buy another LED light from OpenBazaar and use 2$ to try out the tip feature in the other direction to some post I like. So there is 1$ left which I will use spontaneous.

Of course I have walleth installed too, but does it have an embedded browser?
No embedding a browser is a liability in my eyes. But I am working on solutions to allow walleth to be invoked by browser apps - see also https://github.com/ethereum/EIPs/pull/1330 WalletConnect DesktopBrowser<>Walletth works already mobile<>mobile in the works.

Great to see all the movement in decentralized social networks with e.g. peepeth and akasha - but really still missing a decentralized network with privacy in mind and encrypted communication in groups ..
If you are in Berlin next week - RSVP and join us for our jubilee edition of Berlin Hack and Tell #64 titled "Hackable" (inspired by spudowiar vs bitfi6 recently) - https://www.meetup.com/de-DE/Berlin-Hack-and-Tell/events/253976926 - And don't forget to bring your hacks!

Great - love the idea of mentally refreshing activities in the breaks! I just have to say I do not find the sound in the youtube video very refreshing - it starts nice - but then ends in sounds that I really dislike and find mentally distressing rather than refreshing ;D
Who here will be at @ethberlin ?

Have you tried a dev build with #walleth yet?.. Or is this not "transparent"?
Doing this currently ;-) The PR introducing this in geth is quite recent - came in very late in the version - otherwise I would already have tried it out before. Was a major pain point I had - I love testing on Rinkeby -but could not stand this syncing time ..
