the lack of respect sucks. i suppose it was a sort of inadvertent trust test. to put a more positive spin on it, at least it wasn't the (expensive) knife that was sitting next to it. a lesson, maybe, that i can no longer leave my tools where others are apt to mess with them.

Yeah, sorry to hear that.

I used to keep my cooking knife on my hip, my oven glove in my apron strap, and my tools hidden in the freezer. I feel ya.

Definitely a generalist. Guess the real experts are the more rare breed. But who knows. Maybe if most of us are generalists, we tend to generalize people into experts and generalists :P

I think there are more experts here than any of us realize. We tend to compare ourselves to more talented than ourselves, and fail to see that we’re more talented at a particular thing, than 95% of the population. It’s all subjective :)

You’re a Gen X’er, you belong here. The Respectable Rebels from your generation are awesome creatures of intelligence, stuck between two polar opposite (Boomers and Millennials). You guys make it possible for my generation to even be here. Thank you.

I'd say all of the above could be applicable. We all take time for granted, but anything can happen; some that could be expected and some unexpected. We should appreciate every day.

Mysterious 🤔😎
Time is a very difficult thing for me. I always feel the clock running out. I’m overly aware of how little time I (we) have, and it never stops nagging at me.

@docdailey - it means to like something and is a rearranged spelling of "like". It was first used by @abcoathup on Peepeth and has pretty much become the standard way to express liking a post. Feel free to use #like or anything else.

I’m am very happy to have found the meaning behind this. It is not good to ask, but it is good to know. Haha

I Think to record peeps on the blockchain will work as a prove to ownership for copyrights on creative content. So maybe to peep a new song or a new blog, lyrics, or any creative content will be a great way to enforce ownership, right?

That is a really smart thought. Original content posted on Peepeth is verifiably yours!

warning: rant. why do people touch things that aren't theirs? today i came back from being on delivery, only to find that my personal spatula had been taken off my station and used for savory prep that stained and ruined my tool. worse yet, it has sentimental value attached. :(

I’m sorry this happened. :(

People assume things don’t have sentimental value, and tend to only see their own perspective on things. It sucks. We all kind of do it. But if your spatula was some place uncommon for a spatula to be, they should have had more sense.

Interesting thoughts. I bet some generalists are actually experts, but due to the nature of our society and the overwhelming amount of knowledge there is to learn, those experts place themselves into the wrong category, because they know a lot about a lot of things.

Good 💡. I had something similar on my mind, to create an artwork that would have all the words represented as graphical pieces of the artwork (elaborate painting for example). You can also just write all the words down and interject other seed words between them @Gsp. Have fun!

That sounds like it’s be a cool visual! A modern art kind of thing, with words of personal meaning separating seed words 👌🏼

Insta is getting bad though too. If you browse suggested posts you'll see a lot of "fake" accounts posting content for clicks as well. I think these sites do that to gain a lot of followers and then sell the accounts off.

You’re not wrong! Eventually, every awesome place becomes saturated with non-awesome stuff.

It reminds me of Bitcoins price peak. In the early days tons of intelligent people found a community. I told my brother, “when dad wants to join, it’s time to get out.” Sure enough... 📉
