#Iris sibirica flower. Surreal colouring and shapes.
Oddly, this clump does just fine in the shade, under an overzealous rosebush.

> Nobody I know uses this though, but it seems nice those immortal words.... the pain of a privacy advocate lol
Yep. Not that I'd call myself a vocal advocate. I'll never convince my mother to switch off WhatsApp, I get that.
To keybase's credit, I was able to land a non-small deal due to someone hunting me down there. Crazy, I know. πΉ

- Decentralized registry instead of relying only in server db - Option to download profile data - Store profile on Dat or other, and show IPFS hash on each post to allow pinning instead of relying on Peepeth server - Even it not being self-hosted, be a PWA for faster loading
Interesting notions for sure... what are "Dat" and "PWA"?
BTW - if you click the hyperlink when signing, you'll see an IPFS hash which you can extract the qmHashes for all the posts you're about to sign!

Yeah, also open source technology underpinning it. Nobody I know uses this though, but it seems nice.

I wish decentralised identity solutions like Keybase were more user-friendly and accepted by the masses. If I could use a version of WhatsApp, Telegram, or Signal, but based on a decentralised key that I own vs. a SMS number, that'd be perfect.
I like keybase too, pity it's not more popular. Check out Wire, no phone verification required:
This weekend at the #allotment we weeded, prepared, and sowed some broad beans ('Sutton') under an A-frame to let them grow upwards.
With hungry plants, dig in rich material deep before planting on top. We used some terrible smelling organic nutrient mix. Yummy! π©π§

Hi @bevan Does Peepeth converts an uploaded image? I see its hash is different from original IPFS upload. Also, does the enso is a smart-contract?
Metadata is removed, so hashes will be different than your original image.

Not in particular. We eventually want to do some small scale produce gardening, but we want to avoid all pesticide use. Using predatory insects seems to help, but I don't know if that will scale as we get more plants.
Check out SB Plant Invigorator. I have no affiliation, just a customer of this product. It is natural and not a #pesticide. I hope that it's available in your region.

What do you use to control pests in your garden?
... everything under the sun that works!
Slugs, snails, aphids, whitefly, blackfly, are all voracious here. Are there particular pests you're wondering about? We use different controls based on the enemy.

Further progress at the #allotment this weekend. Sunday was sunny, much labouring was done on this newer half of our plot. Never enough, though! Planted two cherry #tomato plants under this cloche, to be cordoned upwards as they grow. π π§π #gardening
π Cherry #tomato plants.
Tomatoes are hungry: a deep hole was dug (fork-depth), turned in well-rotted manure (1y), top-filled with compost. We plant the young plants straight into soft compost. They grow and root down into the nutrient-rich organic material below.

Does asparagus regrow after a harvest?
Yes, they're perennial and will return year after year. Just don't cut and eat all the growing stalks. Once established we're cutting one for every 2 stalks we leave to grow. That way the crowns can develop during the season for next year!
Replying to @Saschlander (0x461ae8c33224aceb7f1259095dd2a334ad20f322)
This is cool. Do you feed them ferts? Canβt imagine they survive 6 years from that tiny bit of soil.
No, we don't feed these with fertilizer. Part of the annual maintenance includes refreshing that single spoon of soil with a rocky mix of compost. You don't want your #microplant growing macro, after all! πΉ
Just a rare watering, and they're happy!
Spending #Caturday eve in good company with #ShadowTheCat. #CatsOfPeepeth
Rare watering day for our tiny #cacti. These little friends are 6 years old. There is one spoonful of soil in here, no more!

I now remember my cousin showing me a text adventure game when I was very young (I couldnβt read so he read it aloud and asked for input). I did, however, read the choose-your-own-adventure Goosebump books :)
Ahhh, yeah, CYOA books were fantastic. I feel children are missing a lot of text-based entertainment nowadays.

Nice suggestion, that's a really cool concept. I started playing it, will check it out more, but it seems there's no save.
I love these types of things.
More forkin' #allotment work this week. Most of this area will be used for succession blocks of 'Lark' #sweetcorn.
The progress is slow, but ongoing. You can tell by the colour of the soil what was forked last week vs this week.

In the 2017 bullrun, LOTS of people invested in cryptos for a get-rich-quick fix that failed. Since they were broke and didn't want to give up on their hodlings, collateralising their crypto for a loan that can be converted into a fiat was the solution. Enter DAI and ETHLEND. :)
Ahh, gotcha now. Thanks for breaking that down for me. Yes I remember those days, it was a very hot market end of 2017. I know a lot of people that got burned badly in the FOMO.
Replying to @AnaelleLTD (0x2c89c3660a985ccdebf7e63f5f0f8b83e54cd49d)
It seems to me that DAI was originally designed for people who had massively invested in ETH during the 2017 bullrun. Check this article: https://cryptobriefing.com/alchemint-live-maker-dais/ Or this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhZbY9Ycep8
Thanks very much for those two contrasting positions, that was very helpful. I think the first article highlights my concerns with it: at the moment the interest on the CDP seems... really high! Higher than traditional debt vehicles. Why did you mention the 2017 bullrun?

Passed by some #bluebells en masse, in some woods yesterday. I found this scene beautiful, but haunting; it shows the advancement of an invasive species of #bluebell (front, tall, multi-directional flowers), native British bluebells in the background.
The invasive #bluebell is Spanish, and it's hybridizing out the native species, as well as outperforming them in the British woodlands. Soon the native bluebell may be a thing of the past.
We have been careless: bringing all kinds of plants from all over the world back home.

Very cool. Love that Regatta game. What were the "F" units being used at the auction?
Could someone explain the benefits of #DAI?
There are issues with stable pegging from what I see--interest is continually increasing. I want to hedge into DAI but I think I need some more input from the experienced. I love the concept of a DAO--in theory anyways!
