Are those dumplings with chicken?
General Tsao's chicken, pork pot sticker dumplings, and fried crab rangoon. The General Tsao's chicken I went too heavy on the soy sauce so it turned out more savory. It was still sweet but could have been sweeter with less soy sauce or more sugar.
Birthday dinner with the new wok.

Let's. Happy birthday.
Thank you and thank you for always being a positive influence on the platform.
Today I enter my late 30's. Time waits for no man. It's been a hell of a ride so far though. Let's continue to enjoy it.

Wow, does it get tiring to swish for 20 min? Do you taste coconut 🥥 throughout the day?
It's not that bad actually. I don't swish vigorously more absentmindedly. I brush my teeth afterwards and it tastes much more like mint than coconut. In general it's a lot like mouthwash except my teeth are whiter.

Don't know about that. Let me know if you find it :) Also, add qatsi trilogy to the list, starting with Koyaanisqatsi :)
I did some digging and while it was shot on 70mm unless you saw it in an IMAX movie theater you're not going to get that resolution. The highest rezes I could find were 1080p Blu Ray or HD digital. BTW I just bought Baraka on amazon prime and Samsara is free on amazon video now.

Thanks for reminding me, haven't watched them in ages. @theoldsparrow
I think I've seen Samsara once. I should probably buy it and a new blu ray copy of Baraka. Is there a 4K version of either?

Anyone else missing summer yet?
I'm ready for summer but here in Atlanta Spring has come. I even did some sun bathing yesterday and could have done so today. If it doesn't rain tomorrow I'll chase a little more color on my skin.

Recommend watching Baraka (especially on a big screen). Powerful. Features the singing from last night. #buidl_bali https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baraka_(film)
Back when I used to smoke weed one of my favorite things to do was smoke a bowl and put Baraka on. It's a powerful movie and feels like a divine experience to watch.

Le Brie is one of the tastiest and most versatile type of cheeses in this world. You could try it as a Fondue with some baguette or veggies next time! :)
It's my favorite cheese. So buttery tasting. I saw a recipe online for the pie and wanted to try baking one. Brie plus flaky pie crust is quite an improvement over just with crackers. I'm American so a quality French baguette would have to be made by me. That would take learning.
Just ate a Brie cheese and leftover steak pie for lunch. It didn't hold form from baking (kind of melted with the cheese) but still tasted amazing. The only thing about it is that I got super full really quick off of it.

I really like the Enso system. Giving or receiving one feels very special. The only downside is when stuff like #buidl_bali pops up and I want to give out like 100 of them.

Interesting, how long do you have to keep it in your mouth for? Is it an every day thing?
It's twenty minutes a day and you swish the oil like mouthwash. The only downside is you have to spit it in the trash instead of the sink because coconut oil solidifies at room temperature. That could clog pipes pretty easily.
Trying oil pulling using coconut oil. I drink a lot of tea which has stained my teeth but oil pulling seems to be a good way to flush bacteria and whiten teeth.
Thank you for the Enso @10nfinity

Wow, for how long and at what temperature did you cook it? The blow torch part sounds fun :)
It was cooked for 5 hours so it may have not been the perfect amount of time. Maybe 3 hours is better. The temperature was 131 degrees F exactly for that amount of time. I'm going to try to make steak dumplings using eggwash cooked thinly in a ladle maybe later today or tomorrow.

well, who are you?
I am me,
That's all I will ever be.
You are you,
As long as you remain true.

Last night I had my first sous vide steak. Nice excuse to use a blow torch to finish my food. :D I was expecting it to be juicier. Maybe a ribeye with more marbling will have the juices. Still like a really expensive restaurant style steak. Also a side of stuffed mushrooms.

I hope to do a couple of Vlogs whilst at #buidl_bali. @hannah makes it look so easy. I struggled to say #buidl_bali vlog. I’m packed. Though need to do some coding tonight.
Please do! Also as an aside since it's the first time I'm hearing it, you have a really pleasant voice.

I asked my host if this was sugarcane. She said yes, offered me some, and then proceeded to cut down a whole stalk.
Oh! What does that taste like? Sweet I guess but any overtones? What's its consistency? Syrupy? Juicy? Pulpy? I know it's liquid of some sort with obviously a sugary taste as it's what sugar is made from but I'm really curious to know.

Looks like avocados halved and pitted topped with chia and sesame seeds filled with a chickpea avocado guac topped with boiled dried chickpeas with a dose of olive oil(?) garnished with a fresh mint sprig. Looks amazing and I bet it tastes delish.
Just got my two weeks early birthday present to myself. A Sous Vide circulator set up and a kitchen blow torch. I feel like an elemental wizard cooking with perfectly temperatured water and str8 fyre. Oh the steaks I will make.

I tried a flotation tank for the first time today. The idea is that while floating in this dark, body-temperature tank, you're deprived of all sensory inputs. There are many supposed benefits, but I was most interested in seeing what would happen if I meditated in there.
I've always wanted to try that. Are there any warm or cool spots on your body or is it all just neutral?
Thank you for the Enso, @Bevan

Interesting recipe, will have to try that out. I'm a big fan of replacing other fats with coconut oil/milk. One of my favorite concoctions is a berry smoothie made with coconut milk instead of regular milk.
When I go on a bulk soon I'll be replacing my casein and water protein shakes with whey and coconut milk. Coconut is a super food. Which is weird because I hated coconut growing up. Mainly from the texture of dried coconut flakes which I must have associated the flavor with.
Happy Valentine's Day, peepeth!

I made coconut oil mayo today. First time making mayo but it turned out pretty good. Very rich and a slight hint of coconut. The good thing about coconut oil is that it lowers bad cholesterol and raises good cholesterol. Processed a couple of tomatoes into it for extra flavor.
