Getting lots of pings from people who are "getting into crypto" via YouTube personalities.
Makes my heart sing when I can get them focused off of junk and into understanding crypto at a more fundamental level.

I tried it for a bit and stopped. I think I stopped because it worked, I wasn't being as stimulated by my phone. Time to try again! Nice to see you back here Jeff!
Glad to be back! Twitter is great but a bit noisy. Trying to avoid scrolling for now. We'll see how it goes!

This bears repeeping. Anyone here do #4?
I might consider it. Trying to reduce Twitter usage...maybe that would help!
@bevan how did you make the Mosquito token? Do you have a contract address where I can look at the code for it?
Thanks!
Playing with 3box...anyone else?

It’s Good Friday so most things are closed. First is Kids Day Out which raises money for the Royal Children’s Hospital https://www.goodfridayappeal.com.au/kids-day-out-2019/ See some family. Then Daniel Sloss in the evening. https://www.comedyfestival.com.au/2019/shows/x
I'm a day behind-stull Maundy Thursday here. Going to make pancakes and teach the kids how Jewish Seder relates to Catholic Mass.
Rewatching The Last Jedi for the first time.
If you think of it as deliberately subversive of established tropes in Star Wars, it's a more interesting watch.

It speaks to my soul. Trying to live according to spirit and not flesh is essential for my path. All of our paths really. 😎
What is the difference between spirit and flesh, in your mind?

I like that. To keep your streak you have to take a day off.
I was thinking more flexible, like you CAN take a day off.
Maybe 6/1, which would give people one weekly Sabbath to stay off social media completely if they want.

That's true. Thinking about awarding a badge for deliberately not using Peepeth for a certain amount of time. Breaks are good.
Another option would be to offer a "day off" after x amount of days.
Hit 15 days straight? You get a free missed day. Like a mulligan in golf.

I lost mine at Christmas and was sad as I was in triple digits. But it isn’t meant to cause anxiety.
I'm rarely an anxious person, so it was noteworthy to me that I started thinking about it.
Lost my peep streak.
But, it was kind of liberating. A few "close calls" a few days ago made me get a bit anxious about it.
And peepin' ain't worth anxiety 😂

Soup is good. My favourite is pumpkin. Comfort eating likely helps. Wish the family better. Keep up the fluids.
Thank you. Mostly we're trying to get some fresh air, fluids, and keep away from anyone so we don't get them sick too.
BBQ chicken heals like chicken soup, right?
Family is sick! Hoping to heal thru good eating.
Got me some of those sweet, sweet Neon District loot crates today 🔥🔥🔥

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! The plague was awful, but there were a lot of times when the Middle Ages were pretty decent to live. In fact, better to live then in many places than now in many places (ie Somalia).
But clearly, there will never be 100% of the people 100% happy 100% of the time.

The thing about Utopia is it's kind of different based on perspective. If you had polio in the 1300s France while the Black Plague ravaged the country during a major famine you would think now is the techno-utopia. There will always be problems but relatively things get better.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Also (potato webcam quality photo) my new apartment is fantastic value for a mere €155/mo ($175 USD). Central location, 2 desks in my room, closet & bed, kitchen shared with 3 Sicilians who can cook very well... molto bene
What an adventure! Enjoy!
I am not, and never will be, a techno-utopian.
Family getting run over by the flu this week; please say a prayer for us 🙏
I'm really excited about Neon District, and got in the first tier for the Founder's Sale.

There's something about blurring the lines between income generation and games that may end up cannibalizing the latter. I wouldn't play any number of games I enjoy if there were a monetary element or large investment cost. To me, it totally undermines the relaxation component.
That's an interesting point. I remember playing Star Wars Galaxies. 1st time I played a game and worried about in game economy (mining ore or something).
A lot of stuff that was fun then has been played out. Will be interesting to see what sticks and what doesn't in crypto-games

Do you know about Enjin? It uses blockchain for true ownership of in-game assets (and cross multiple games, if the asset developer wants)
Yes, I actually just bought some right before the big jump a week ago!

The games will come. The benefits of true ownership for users and increased engagement and monetisation for users make it inevitable.
Totally agree. Steam has shown people want to buy and trade skins and goodies.
Mainstream game devs may not embrace the blockchain, wanting control over everything, but disrupters will persist, I'm certain.
Me waiting for a good game to come out using blockchain that doesn't end up being a fancy Ponzi scheme.

As the EU passes a law that holds platforms liable for copyright infringement and implies automated filters are now required... Web3 is looking like a better deal all the time. It may not just be the "new" internet... it might allow the internet as you know it to survive, too.
Love Europe, hate the EU.

I feel your pain. Killed one in under 3mo when they were new and cost a fortune (remember when that shipment sank in the sea and they were nigh impossible to get in the EU for months?) Thank goodness that was work kit. Hope you find a way to keep running nodes! 🔥💽🔥 🐧⁉️
I'm backing up my other SSD right now. I've been lazy, even tho I know better. 😭
I didn't hear about a shipment sinking. What a bummer! But getting excited because current SSDs are under $100 and over 500 GB. Insane!
Rewatched Godfather Pt 2 & 3 this week and wow, what a masterpiece the trilogy is.
Killed another SSD trying to sync up a blockchain.
I think I'm done running nodes for a while.

Some nights I wake up and can't fall back asleep for a while, then I grab the phone to "check" stuff. It does mess with my sleep routine for sure. My wife keeps her phone in another room at night; wish I had that level of self-control! 📴🐧
I'm a frequent phone checker throughout the day, but at night I sleep well and have no issues keeping my phone off, even when it's within arm's reach.
It's a temptation that I've never had (and trust me, I have plenty).

Words of wisdom. Although I wonder why he chose negation rather than “courage”. Maybe because one word isn’t a quote? :)
That's a good question! The phrase originally comes from Jesus in the Gospels, when he appeared to the apostles in a sealed room.

Personally, I see cryptos as a medium to access cutting edge services, not so much as an investment. Percentages work best for me when left to my intuitive approximation: I'm not fan of cold/hard figures. :)
Thanks! I see them as a combination of both.
Interestingly, I'm currently trying to focus more on hard figures lately 😀
Determining your investments can be difficult. What informs your allocation percentages?

Stupid question-is the mobile app separate from accessing it via Web3 wallets?

I mean (lone) developers who are buidling for the experience, for the sake of experimenting, human testing and the likes. They introduce a certain randomness in the blockchain space that helps explore its current limits without worrying about "formalities" and "procedures". :)
Thanks. Do you consider this a bug or a feature?

Cosmos is another level in blockchain scaffolding to me. I have my worries about the whole PoS, but at the same time, high staking makes sense because they want to avoid dealing with the randomness of amateur/dabbling developers on their platform, unlike Ethereum. :)
Ooh, interesting. Can you explain more what you mean by amateur/dabbling?
Replying to @jm9k (0xa7bd09daab3eb5ec96f04914d94c47681489d604)
I'm still reading on Cosmos, but it doesn't sound at all like an Ethereum killer. It sounds like something different that has inherent strengths and weaknesses. Either way, more good for the ecosystem.
I'm eager to see how interoperability goes. I'd love for the price to drop a bit so I can pick some up for staking...as it is, I find it hard to buy at $5.
At the same time, a higher market cap is necessary for a PoS coin, so I'm not sure what we'll see.
It's a wild ride!
Lots of discussion about Cosmos vs ETH on reddit right now.
What are your thoughts? Is Cosmos an ETH killer or an also ran?

Holding you to it! @bevan - would be cool to stake some $ on digital "off" days. If you fail, you lose your stake.
Thanks everyone, did well until just now (5 pm) and checked email with peep notifications.
Great ideas about staying off peepeth/Twitter. Will consider some of my own.
Trying for a digital free day today, so no more peeping until tomorrow!
