Good morning friends. I will post some photos of my part of the world.
Welcome Chid! Loving your photos.

I need target="_blank" too, agree with you.
It's on the way, thank you Shigako!

The main hurdle for me was actually Metamask. Crypto is clearly still in the phase of infrastructure installation. But paying ETH to use social medial feels pretty damn awesome.
Welcome to Peepeth, Qiao!
Can I ask what attracted you to Peepeth? Very curious to hear from those who had not already used MetaMask!

Been ill for the last week, what have I missed my fellow #peepers?
Hope you're feeling better. We have some great new people peepin' :)

Digging the platform, excellent execution! Barrier to entry is high (Metamask + ETH), so is the current cost of the Ethereum platform - but it works today!
Thanks for joining Colin!

Ahh, @bevan addressed this issue previously on Hacker News https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=16816783
Thanks for the question, will add this to the FAQ.

#FeatureRequest @bevan I would love to be able to see the text of replies in my notifications tab. Right now they show up in the firehose TL anyway so it's not a big deal, but that won't scale well.
Good idea Sonya, will add this. For now, you can view the text of replies by clicking the "replied" link in each notification.

Thanks @adam. The target="_blank" is coming soon.

You are welcome! And thanks for creating Peepeth! This picture was shot at the making of a TV commercial. I had the privilege of being the Set photographer. Will post some of them in the near future. Thanks for the compliment :)
Very cool. Looking forward to it!

What is the purpose of verifying our Twitter accounts, @Bevan? Also, more Scots please @wighawag! I've never been to Scotland but I love Irvine Welsh, Primal Scream, Frankie Boyle and Kevin Bridges. A very cool and funny people, your lot.
Hi Xennial, good question. Verifying your Twitter account shows others that you are the same person who controls that external account. I'll be adding other ways to prove your identity soon.
Hey all! Hope you're enjoying your Friday / Saturday.
FYI, images are now posting through to Twitter (if you are using the Tweet your Peeps feature).
Also, a Peepeth link is appended to your Tweets by default (can disable in settings).
Curious about the purple mosquitoes on Peepeth?

Welcome Chris! Let me know if you have any issues verifying or linking your Twitter account.
Looks like you and @wighawag may be the only ones peepin' from Scotland so far!

couldn't that be accomplished with just IPFS, no blockchain needed?
Thanks for asking. The blockchain is the central index and proves who posted what when. Also check out peepeth.com/how for more detailed info.

Hey guys. Finally wrapping day up today. Been a chaotic week. Still have a massive laundry list of jobs to complete by Sunday, will have some pics of them when getting to them. A beautiful day in Clearwater beach however. Always nice to catch some sun at work. #plumberlife

fortunately, i'm not on kauai, i'm on the big island. unfortunately, yes, it was pretty bad and it looks like the state will be receiving even more rainfall. :( but the community here is incredibly strong and very supportive of one another. thank you for your kind thoughts!
Sorry to hear that! I hope it's not too bad. Glad the community is strong and holding together.
Looking forward to more forest pics when the weather clears :)
Wow! Looking forward to more art. Thanks @flygoing for the referral :)

Yep just use a VPN. I recommend Astrill or Express. Sometimes my posts end up out-of-order time-wise, but it's not a big deal. Bevan's working on a work-around.
Should be fixed! Also re-ordered all of your old peeps.

@bevan is there a blockchain-y reason that we can't view the contents of peep replies in email notifications (and is it on the roadmap)?
Good suggestion! Have added this to the queue.

The Peepeth team ( @Bevan ) isn't from Leeroy, but the platform evolved out of Leeroy. @James (creator of Leeroy) wrote the IPFS Peepeth Reader found at https://peepeth.com/front_end to demonstrate the ease of developing alternative front ends for Peepeth.
@PaulBaier Yes, very grateful for @james work and support!

If I think about it, it could have been about an hour ago. @bevan maybe some annoying daylights savings time stuff?
Haha, I did a few double-takes today as well. Have just fixed the issue.

But would a user always need a webfront to see the peeps? So as a user have comfort that my peeps aren't deleted, but may have access problems if the government is blocking website access. right?
A user could also run a local front-end instance, although not very practical for most.
BTW, fixed the issue where your Peeps were being shown out of order.

Love it so far (even if i have to wear sunglasses).Congratulations!! Do you have a roadmap of any sorts?
Great to hear.
Yes, I want night mode too.
I may post a roadmap soon. The focus now is on squaring away the basics and on getting the messaging right. Looks familiar, but different paradigm.
Really appreciate suggestions and everyone's leadership in setting the tone. New start
