That’s amazing! I’ve been away for some days so trying to play catch up with emails and all, will check out the Kickstarter as well. Regardless of what happens, Peepeth has my support!
Thank you, Randy!

It would be great to have more detailed statistics on that. Could be very useful as an argument in discussions about the energy and cost efficiency of Ethereum and blockchain in general, besides PoS.
I'll try to put some together. Future costs of IPFS is another issue.

Peepeth.com is not a neutral “anything goes” platform, despite the immutability of its datastore. Peepeth.com is governed by a terms of use, and peeps that are not in accord with it will not be visible, by default, on the main feed.
3) Moderation is transparent on Peepeth.com, because of the open nature of the blockchain. That keeps Peepeth.com accountable to users, who are free to build and use another front-end for Peepeth data.

What is the point of Peepeth if you turn it into Twitter?
The emphasis here is on cultivating positive contribution, mindful discourse, and self-awareness.
Censorship is not the main problem Peepeth is seeking to fix, although a censorship resistant back end is part of the solution. See /welcome and /about for more.

Given that all the data is stored on the blockchain, it is possible (though perhaps not trivial) to create a "canary" system to highlight when the Peepeth.com frontend is moderating or hiding content. I've been mulling over the idea of starting a FOSS project to do this...
Also @sponnet has created a tool to facilitate this:

Will you be replacing the text on the dApp library? This seems misleading based on what you've said in this video.
Thanks for pointing this out. Is this on Coinbase Wallet? That appears to be early Peepeth copy and is indeed misleading about Peepeth's intent. The censorship-resistant aspect of Peepeth is nuanced and that doesn't do it justice; check out /welcome and /about for more.

You’re welcome. I see and love how you fight!! It just sickens me when I get all excited for a new, “free” platform....and get hit with “radioactive” symbols on my posts and the posts of those I’ve chosen to follow. FYI: @bevan, @fulcrum is a political news org. 😏 #radioactive?
The politics hashtag is self-imposed out of courtesy to others, and the radioactive sign is an attempt at humor :)
Hey all! Wanted to clarify the politics feature, and discuss moderation on Peepeth:

What's the thing with peeps that are hidden when they are tagged, how does it work?
Out of courtesy to others, please tag your political posts with the politics hashtag, and your NSFW posts with the nsfw hashtag.

@Bevan Maybe there could be a non-political tickbox which puts up this "Zen" flag, or maybe a Zen mode. But, we should be able to take the filter off if there is freedom of speech. If people do not like @Fulcrum or politics, they have the option to turn the flag censorship on.
Thanks Fates, I'm considering some related solutions.
The politics tag is self-imposed (despite the old, unannounced copy- my mistake).
Note, however, that certain TOS-violating posts will in fact be removed completely. That Peepeth.com is moderated may not be clear enough.
Replying to @Bevan (0x30755d3e65c0cf46c35b72d11e52d941c5fc3a3e)
Peepers are encouraged to add the "politics" hashtag to their peeps. However, Peepeth won't be tagging posts; it's up to users. See revised copy.
@fulcrum Also note that Peepeth.com is a moderated front-end. Certain content will be removed at the discretion of admins / community.

Censorship has already reached Peepeth. "Political" posts are hidden and chastised against by the UI. This is sick, thank GOD Trump won. Many of you are morons. The Clintons are pedophiles. Bill took 26 trips to Pedo Island on Jeffrey Epstein's private jet. Documented.

Does anyone have any insights into techniques for creating a self-referencing IPFS file, if that's even possible? The file's contents are JSON-LD and one of the properties should be the URL where the doc resides. #ipfs #hashing #how-to

Do you know if the fee is integrated as a part of the dApp, or is a feature of the front-end?
It's part of the dapp. You can always tip for free by clicking on the user's account name, and sending ETH directly to their address. However, it won't appear on Peepeth in that case.

I am still waiting for my Twitter verification (over 1hr). How long does it usually take?
I've refunded you. If you'd like to try again, it should work as long as you enter the exact message provided in your verification Tweet.

Is there any public aggregated data on how much this is costing? Would be cool to compare it to the traditional server/management costs
Peepeth's TX costs are minimal (~several dollars per day), as the current posting frequency is about once per hour, and each TX is close to the minimum TX price (~26k gas). However that doesn't include the costs of storing / serving the data itself (on Peepeth and Infura nodes).

Hi Bill, thanks for trying. Coinbase Wallet on iOS currently does not support that feature, but it works with others such as @Trust.
