Every government sees all your internet activity (+) and you have no secrets. That's old news. Anybody who believes otherwise is either lazy or stupid.
Absolutely, you are completely right. Didn't share it because of it being new or not. Shared so that people can read it completely and educate themselves.

I got both of them off stacksocial, lifetime subscriptions for under $40. I thought that even if they would shutdown after a year it would've been money well spent, and I wasn't wrong so far :)
Nice deal! ProtonMail just auctioned some lifetime accounts some days ago.

Besides Status what app we can use on Android?
When will Status.im be released in the AppStore? As of today it's only through TestFlight I think.

Protip: You never got "some free time". Solution: Open up the text editor and start writing the article. Slowly. Each day one paragraph. In 2 week you will get an amazing article.
Haha quite true what you stated. I was hoping to start during my semester break after my exam session.

Cool, thanks. Many articles under a construction ;)
Will you write exclusively about programmer topics?

I use Celo (for which until today I thought they're Bulgarians, but they're actually Australians) and VPN Unlimited (Ukrainians). I prefer Celo, somehow they're more straightforward, but VPN Unlimited has wider selection of servers, which also comes handy at times.
Will check them out too, thanks!

I use it, actively, it is highly inconvenient, but highly secure.
Did you already experience downtime or disconnects? What about P2P traffic?

I've been using the Proton Visionary plan for a while... it includes vpn and email. If your correspondents are techy, you could use PGP for less cost. If they are all on gmail, you're not really getting past the "problem" of data harvesting. If you support the vision... A+
Thank you for the feedback. I heard they just auctioned some lifetime accounts. Did you try out the Proton Bridge?

I've been using @protonmail for both my businesses and my personal email for quite a while now. I give it the highest recommendation. The VPN is also a solid product. Zero complaints for desktop and Android protonmail. They also have 2FA login.
Nice! Thanks for the feedback! Do you got the Email + VPN subscription?

I have the email since 2015, not using it actively though. It's usable, but the UI/UX is lagging after Gmail's. Haven't used their VPN, I have some other providers. Would you like to know anything in particular?
What provider are you using? I heard about NordVPN too but got only a single (quite good) feedback.

It was worth the watch. Trying to get people to use products and services that don't sell customer data is difficult in my experience. People have a hard time understanding what the problem is. This did a good job of shining the spotlight on some of the troubling realities.
One day when I got some free time I would like to write an article about personal data, privacy and why it's important to care. This video gives a really good overview on what's happening.
Is someone using (or used in the past) ProtonMail/ProtonVPN? Feedback wanted!

Before I watch it - I would like to say this: "We" are not doing that. In fact, "we" __here__ are actively looking to participate in attempts to fix the broken internet we've ended up with. ... Will watch now. Thanks for sharing.

From classes, or teaching? Hope you get some rest.
A combination of both I think. But don't worry I won't have a burnout. It's just that since a week I have so much to do.
Really good talk! Watch it! Now!

dApp browsers don’t support this currently though I expect this to change where a user can give permission to not show a dialog to sign certain actions. A native app could sign every action without user interaction. So could a website that didn’t require Web3 injection.
One of the next UX steps for MetaMask and alike.
Replying to @tpt (0x618242eb5b2e41ad715a6e1c01aa6d28dea2a911)
I wonder how tightly that would actually bind the developer's hands? It feels like there would be a lot of possible ways for them to change the behavior of the thing you gave permission to. Which wouldn't be ideal.
That true there would need to be some security mechanisms that would only allow the same exact action.

I don't know what the solution to the problem is, but automating it in some way will definitely help. People will be confused. It would be nice to tell metamask that a certain action is fine and to never ask again. But that's probably tough to do without being easily abused.
One could tick a box to tell MetaMask that a certain action for a certain domain is accepted to be automated.
@bevan Now that peeping is free for almost everyone: wouldn't it make more sense to automatise signing once we reach 15 actions? No action required from user and the browser/MetaMask auto signs when 15 actions are reached and sends to server. Don't know if this is even possible.

Okay, but I realy think that ETH need a layer that can pulish it's status to the network now and then to take away scaling isues on apps running on the eth chain.
Scaling is indeed required.
