Hey Peepethers! I'm looking for somebody who can write something about #peepeth. We will publish it on TheTokener.com to promote the project. Maybe the Devs have a square banner we can use to fill up when a spot has no advertiser? Contact me at rene@thetokener.com Cheers! Ren
Hi Rene, thanks for reaching out! Have emailed you.

Actually I do like the time cost of peeping. It adds a slight layer/filter on the noise.
Good point; there's value in that constraint. Looking for other ways to encourage meaningful content. Ideas appreciated!

Hi Austin, thanks for joining Peepeth. Good luck with Catallax; looking forward to learning more about it. Nice background pic!

Hi, is there a way to actually see my tweets text data on the chain?
Great question. Going to add a verification tool to make it easier.
It actually only saves a boring-looking IPFS hash to the chain. If you have access to an IPFS node you can get the contents. Click a peep to see its IPFS address in the URL :)

I'd appreciate if there was an ability to just add some ETH to your account and not having to deal with MM transactions every 15 actions
I would too. Probably not feasible now, but mobile app will be streamlined.

Ya I just saw it I'll fix it now
Thanks for verifying your Twitter, Hank, it's a big help for Peepeth.

Oh, I've clicked the "?" icon and see that 15 actions are saved. Still not clear what'll happen if I exceed this limit :) Guess I've got to try and find out.
Hey Igor, appreciate the comments and your testing it out.
Re: batch-limit, it's there to encourage people to save semi-frequently, because doing that is the only reliable way to timestamp the data + secure it to blockchain for other frontends.

I'm still too shy to do a Vlog but I'm gonna try now that I have a good webcam, but thanks a lot!!!!
Yes I feel similarly. I think it would be great though given your experience. Love seeing raw, unfiltered storytelling.

It wasn't long at all but after a few minutes says it was unsuccessful. I just did an audit and when I check the link it's OK Results of your recent verification attempts: Claimed ID: hankscooper URL of post: https://twitter.com/hankscooper/status/981571182439870464 verified No
Hi Hank, unfortunately your Tweet must be public to be verified. I get this when visiting your account: "This account's Tweets are protected.
Only confirmed followers have access to ---'s Tweets and complete profile. Click the "Follow" button to send a follow request. " Refunded.

Haha, I don't know if saving every action to the blockchain is a good idea. Seems pretty bad atm.
Hey Igor, welcome to Peepeth! Luckily with batching, you don't have to save each time you peep or follow. However, Twitter verification needs to execute a blockchain transaction.

How many times is Peepeth gonna keep taking Etrher from me and then not verify my Twitter. That's twice now and they should do it for free until it is verified!!!!!
Hey Hank! Thanks for verifying your Twitter.
It can take a little while, I'll make that more clear. How long has it been?

@Hannah @Bevan What is your connection to the Against Malaria Foundation? I will be joining as soon as they take crypto. Also, I was sick with malaria tropica 5 times, AMA :P
Wow, sorry to hear that! I've been lucky so far and avoided it.
Trying to raise awareness of the Effective Altruism idea: how can we do good most effectively? AMF is one of the best currently. Highly recommend the 3 podcasts linked to on peepeth.com/malaria.

@bevan you've rebuilt twitter with a wildly different engine, cost-structure & value proposition. In your opinion, how long before somebody rebuilds Facebook, LinkedIn? Github? ...Newzbin? ...or the USPTO?
Not long, hopefully! The cat is out of the bag and it won't be long before similar services in other domains spring up.
Thank you James! Currently #3

1peepする毎にトランザクション生成されてたはずだけど、さっきのpeepが生成されてない。もしかしてトランザクション生成はブロックチェーン保存毎に改善されたのかな?
Yes, a blockchain transaction is only generated each time you click "Save to blockchain".

I believe IPFS does not allow you to 'pin' files through their API, so @bevan must be running a node and paying for that. You also mentioned rent for transaction inputs - since the peepeth smart contract is stateless, there would be no rent involved.
Good points. Have been using Infura; plan to host own node(s) soon. Can repost content from server to IPFS at any point in the meantime.
Replying to @james (0xb89465f04caf9334d3d116637ac2a9c4aa8dcff6)
It is interesting to think about who foots the bill when we get to that point. Does Peepeth use Infura for IPFS at the moment @bevan?
Yes, using Infura. Plan to host own node(s) soon. Can re-post any asset from server to IPFS if any go down in the meantime.
Perhaps front-ends will foot the bill, as presumably they will have value-added features that generate revenue.
