How people react to a post is subjective. The question is who has the right to decide which posts are politically upsetting and which are not? Negativity bias works for the censor and the censored. Who gets to be the thought police and what are the qualifications needed?
Peepeth.com is an unapologetically moderated platform.
However, the politics hashtag is not an example of that. Peepeth asks you add a politics hashtag to your own peeps as a courtesy to others. It's up to you if you wish to comply with that convention.

When is the next planned release coming? @bevan
The crowdfunding campaign has been the priority recently, but I hope to return to spending more time on Peepeth itself soon.

A countdown would be great - currently I either try to give an enso but can't, or assume I can't when I can. Just need it to be more clear 😊
This is coming, thanks for confirming!

Bonus: the Fan Brycheiniog itself. Looks a bit like a wave 🤔. The lake is just off in the distance out of view.

In their profile? I don’t see a $ available for tipping on a post.
Tipping is currently disabled on Coinbase Wallet for iOS. Should be made more clear.

NP. Ironically, if I left the "k" off of "click" in the reply. I should've checked it 3 times before posting; however, the char limit in posts validation is weird. Don't let us keep typing or- when pasting- returning to the previous spot. Throw a big red error and stop all input
Yes, good point.

I believe it is important to assume that the way we understand freedom stems from first understanding that human beings are both error-driven and mistake-prone. Have you read Yochai Benkler's book, 'The Wealth of Networks: How Social Production Transforms Markets and Freedom'?
Yes, our mistake-prone nature should be accounted for.
Editing post-peep is one way to reduce blockchain mistakes, but there may be other ways to achieve the same end that encourage more thought before sharing (on blockchain or not).
Have added book to my list, thank you!

Sorry about the anticlimactic ending to the Kickstarter- it was a worthwhile experiment, but not the best route for Peepeth currently. Will be launching the Peepeth.com-based campaign soon.

Like the idea of adding more friction to posting, yet a slider might too much. Perhaps double click on the button: Before clicking: "Post", After 1 click: "Sure?". Two clicks: "Posted"
Cool idea! We may become accustomed to this "safety", but it's a neat way of communicating the gravity of peeping :)
Replying to @conlan (0xa7f3dfed2bcf7b35a8824e11ae8f723650edfb58)
So if you really want to maintain the finality of peeps, then I've recommended an option to have the confirmation window be always on. You could also add a bit more friction to peeps via UI like a slide-to-peep instead of a button.
Thanks for suggesting!
Slide to peep is interesting, as is the always-on are-you-sure warnings. Currently, the are-you-sure warnings interrupt the normal pattern; wondering if they'd be effective if they were always on. Maybe there's an optimal frequency.
Replying to @BigDrunkBear (0x2059f560b33bf4101a19739cbc789850661e5cdc)
How about spell check or grammar validation feedback during the submission process if there are errors? I also like the 'slide to peep' idea as it introduces friction to the post process, the sliding is more likely to make the user pause and analyze as opposed to a quick clic
Thanks for suggesting this!

Peepeth is launching a crowdfunding campaign this Monday! Rewards include cool features & badges (and, for orgs, your logo on the front page). Help make Peepeth accessible to all with Web 2.0-level usability and a mobile app. Give on Kickstarter, or give ETH here. Thank you!
Wanted to let you know I've decided to cancel the Kickstarter, and relaunch a campaign here on Peepeth. Please see my previous three peeps for an explanation. Will send out an email soon with more.
Thanks to everyone for their support!

Thanks again to everyone who’s supported the Kickstarter and helped spread the word. Sorry for the false start. I’ll send out an email soon about the new campaign page; thanks for your help and patience!
Instead, Peepeth be trying a new crowdfunding approach. A crowdfunding page will be launched on Peepeth very soon. It will support ETH, tokens, and fiat. It’s a more appropriate solution for a community which already has a home and a native currency.

Hey all! Appreciate everyone’s support of the Kickstarter campaign.
However, I’ve decided to cancel it. It was a worthwhile experiment, but the lack of an ETH option, uncertainty, and fees make it no longer worthwhile to promote.

Trying to see the value of not having an edit or delete function and can't help but be reminded of the world of Photoshop before the history palette or undo existed. Do we really want to live in a world where people aren't free to make mistakes? cc @bevan @mattjohnson
Good question.
The tendency is to Peep like we Tweet. However, Peepeth is fundamentally different. The UI should better reflect that peeping is not a toy :)
How else can that be communicated?

Love Christpher Alexander's pattern language, I'm excited about the Gary Hustwit documentary on Dieter Rams also! I do love a lot of the Phaidon books and have to say the Dieter Rams book is excellent but Designing Design by Kenya Hara would have to be my favorite.

Hmm, not sure how I feel about Dark Mode personally, there is a reason that FB and Twitter don't have this. As a CEO of a 155 person software company, make sure to avoid feature creep. Be calculated with your UX decisions.
You're right. It's nice to have, but non-critical and adds overhead to future features. Thanks for sharing your perspective.

You might also be able to do this by hand by calling transferOwnership on 0xfa28ec7198028438514b49a3cf353bca5541ce1d That said - I do not know if this has any side effects - unfortunately the contract code is not public - @Bevan can we at least have the contract code peeeease?
That will not work as expected, as the front-end doesn't implement it. Contract will be released at some point, but not now.

Hi Derek, thanks for reporting. There was an issue on Peepeth's end that was causing this today, but it should now be resolved. Please let me know if it happens again.

Yes, the front-end is moderated. Peepeth is not great for that use case. Pairing communication with a payment channel removes a level of anonymity, and hard to find those posts amongst the others. Much easier ways exist.
