What kind of fishies have you got? I used to have some as well; but now with #ShadowTheCat it's not such a great idea...🐠😼🐠
Plain goldfish that aren't even gold...nor red. They are rash: either hiding in the corner of the tank or wildly swimming around.
I don't normally name my pet fish, but I call them "Mama". People who know the Tamil language will understand what I mean by that... :)

Me too. It's common to pin oneself to a single side of any number of dichotomies. Sometimes it's warranted. But a lot of time, I think there's a process we can undertake to cross to the other side. For example, to become more extraverted, hard-working, big-picture focused or detail-oriented, adventurous or conservative. A lot of it is momentum.
Exactly. Life is constant balancing act, in every possible sense. It's good to explore our weak/dark sides from time to time, so long as it doesn't break us at the core... :)
Replying to @satsearcher (0x86e9abf10d761122f3a7c375fe381dfd28bb47a0)
Are you details or big-picture oriented? I find I can get bogged down in details easily and lose track of the big picture. I'm working on balancing this because being able to see the big-picture constantly is useful for orchestrating and persuading other people.
I'm primarily a big-picture person: I make A LOT of assumptions/theories about everything before looking at the details to sift the real and pragmatic from the fake and the unrealistic. Travelling around the world has helped grounding me, but I still dream too big at times... :)

#unpopularopinion Science has done nothing to improve humanitarianism. It has improved quality of life, but it could be argued that our humanitarianism is actually decreasing. Science so far has been a short term fix. We treat each other the same we did 10,000 years ago.
Sometimes I get the thought that Modern Science is a clever trope entrepreneurs use to erect their industrial and technological monopolies... -_-

Thanks for suggesting. Part of me thinks it's better to keep them public, so that there is no illusion that hiding it is anything more than a front-end coverup. What do you think about that?
That's a good point. My motivation was to put as many barriers as possible between people who interact with me on social media (i.e Peepeth) and what I do with my Public Ethereum Account (i.e how I use it for other purposes).
I guess we need some privacy settings on Ethereum...

Would anyone use a Bitcoin-backed accountability platform? e.g. GoFuckingDoIt.com, BeeMinder.com Place a goal. Commit Bitcoin. If you lose, you pay. If you complete, you get your money back (or potentially more, from a pool of losers a la stickk.com / beeminder.com) As far as consequences for doing stuff goes, money is pretty damn good. Bitcoin is even better b/c losing it is losing potential future gains as well.
Hm. I like to think that there is more to accountability than money or reputation. It's about raising a debate/reflection on important matters. Getting money or ego involved irremediably shifts the spotlight away from the core of the issues.
Still, John McAfee nailed it... :)

I get the idea of "policy-ing" web-apps. But at the same time, if people are not confronted to such abominations, they will go on about their lives thinking the world is all spring waters and roses.
Being exposed to unkind people also teaches you about what true kindness is. :)

People need 3 things to efficiently monetise their own data. 1) The ability to transfer ownership of the data to others 2) A place to aggregate & market the data 3) A way to exchange payment to multiple data producers We believe we've developed all 3: https://bit.ly/2Emz9sY
This is quite a groundbreaking approach. The idea of "owning" data and trading with it is just so foreign to most people at the moment, yet it is a reality for businesses and some scientists.
A software to manage your data for you and generate money... that's very alluring! :)

If we are living in a simulation the question "why was this simulation created?" is a fun one. And what stimuli (papers,humans,..) in this simulation might be inserted to control it.
So that the creator could observe whether it will ever occur to the creatures in the simulation that they are, in fact, in a simulation.
I think the creator got its answer now. :)
