I have a friend who collects photos of manhole covers she comes across, so whenever I see an unusual one I think of her :)
Japan has the coolest manhole covers I've seen. I'll be back in a few days and will post some.

Met a new friend. I gained her trust with salami. She was moving in closer and closer, ending up eating from my hand, but in a such calm way, unlike other dogs I met, that I enjoyed feeding her more than having lunch myself 🐶❤️Here I also met a couple on a tandem. #acrossRomania
"Huh? Did someone say salami?!"

I wonder if there will be, or is, a virtual equivalent of a moai, and how it would work. Or how members of a traditional moai extend their moai to the virtual world.
Finally! A use for all those cassette cases. It works really, really well!

What is the largest problem in the world?
Attachment, with it's spinoffs fear, pride, greed, and envy.

The man is giving a signal to other villagers that it's safe to move cattle across the street. Families around here have a cow or two and they escort it to and from fields they graze on. Another moment of social interaction for the villagers. #acrossRomania
I really like this picture. It a captured moment with a timeless quality.

As Danube is close and a lot of swampy ground, the mosquito symphony on the outer layer of the tent was terrifying. With the daylight some other insects came to say hi. This monster was 2 cm (almost an inch) long. #acrossRomania
In Taiwan, more people die from wasp stings than snake bites, and there are many venomous snakes. Be careful around those things! If he gets angry or squished, his friends will pay you a visit.

Pop in to https://ethgasstation.info/ and check the gas price. As it's not something urgent, you can wait until it goes under 10 Gwei again. I happen to be awake in the dead of night, so I can catch those brief moments when the prices are as they used to be :)
Thanks, I'll keep my eyes on it. I'm.learning a lot from you all!

Btw, if you're signing the transaction via MetaMask, once you choose lowest fee, and MM prompts you to sign it, there you can additionally tweak the gas price you're willing to pay.
I did not know that. Thank you.

Does anyone else have a feeling of nostalgia related to drinking dark soda left in a car in a parking lot under direct sunlight that warmed due to greenhouse enhanced solar heating? What other food allows the acridity sensitive region of your palate to carry the day?
Stale caramel taffy, slightly softened by aforementioned heating.

The Ethereum gas fees are insane right now. https://ethgasstation.info/index.php
Guess that explains it! Thanks. I'd seen comments about that but this is the first time I've experienced It first hand . Ouch.
Hmmm... I was going to send a $2 tip and the transaction cost was listed as $0.76, and that was the cheapest. Am I doing something wrong?

So, what movie should I pick for a chilly Saturday night like this? A classic or an action packed The Rock flick? Or binge watch? Or I can just close my eyes and go to sleep. What o what shall I do, sitting in a park waiting for you...ow what shall I what shall I do... #gofoeroe
Youth (2015) is a bit lighter. Victoria takes a bit of commitment.

I agree on this I have seen people grow faster in their career when they stick to one company for long
I guess it depends on the work. In my line of work, the first couple of years in a new location take a lot more energy than successive years. Years 3 on are on auto pilot, then when I get in a rut, I move on and do it again! The rut usually happens about year 5 - 7.

I'm guessing it was just easier to put the pipe through the car than move the car. I assume they can't go any farther into the alley. They must be right up against the property line.

Somewhat, this one was about $21 usd for 500g. Still yet to get my next batch of spirulina tablets (gifted the rest away) but I was taking the recommended dose of 6 tablets. Hyperconcentrated protein which was surprising, something like 2.7g in just one serve - for pills at that
James, check out moringa. Very high in protein and lots of other good stuff.

Re: digital journalling: a friend convinced me to keep the best notes in paper form. There’s something special about the physical act of pen to paper that gets lost in the abstraction of a keyboard. However for things I’d like to remind myself, I’ll be using FutureMe & iCal.
Then there's audio journals. Eventually, text to speech will get nearly perfected, and when that happens, buttons will start disappearing. We'll be able to skim and scan audio files without listening to them, which we can't really do now efficiently and reliably (can we?)

Today was great example. Brexit and Supreme Court nominee. I have STRONG feelings about both, but it does no one any good to see them in absence of a formal dialogue - so I keep them to myself and plan to speak with my vote. For me, it's the best I can do. (2/2)

That's good to hear Shigako. We're in southern Taiwan so the typhoon shouldn't bother us too much. Have a good day!

Most people, including tech people, still do not understand the revolutionary concepts brought about by blockchain technology. Financial gain is their own motivator to pay any attention. This is directly observable: Most users buy cryptocurrency on an exchange and leave it there.
Agreed, but this will eventually change once usability improves and perceptions change. Like mobile phones and email, once it takes off, it will do so quickly and broadly.

To an extent, teens are a driving force in tech adoption. Note how Facebook is losing that age group. But there are barriers to them adopting crypto. They all know about it but most cannot get crypto.
But once crypto becomes mainstream and more accessible, adoption will happen. Tech adoption is somewhat generational.
