Very nice. Thank you for sharing.
Does anybody here use Storj for backup? Any thoughts?
It's great to see Peepeth going strong. Keep it going!
In a funk today so took a walk in the city. The wind was insane but very sunny. This pic shows the birds in a funk too. The dot above them is a lens reflection.

Natural grayscale! Thanks for peeping
Thanks. Honestly perhaps the best pic I've taken with a phone, no filters.

btc to 57k?
I suspect it will go back to the mid to low 30s at some point. It's going to crash along with the stock market in the near future. But BTC will recover.
I love this picture. I took it on a morning walk, and the light and contrast were perfect, even for a phone pic.

Everyday starts with a thought. It sets the day's mood to positive or negative.
Before I get out of bed, I try to take just a moment, even 20 seconds, to meditate on and be mindful of the new day.
Just sharing a picture from a recent walk.

Just a night pic to say hi
Cool pic! I would sort of like to be that person right now, slowly cruising down that path, on a cool night.. thinking about... nothing? A lover? Just being present in the moment?

You have to be old before you can appreciate being young. And then, of course, you can only look back on though with a certain wistfulness.
Hence the old saying, "Youth is wasted on the young."
Before I forget, here's another #manholecover

I'm just so darned happy to see this thing still going strong. I just want to jump up and down with silliness and joy. Love and whatever passes as happiness to you all.

Hello you crazy peepers! Hao jiu bu jian! My goodness. I haven't had this much fun since I spilled relish in my hair!

What is the best portfolio of assets if the election is contested until Jan 20 and then the US has a huge constitutional/concession/or civil war like crisis? Let's suppose someone has 100,000 in total cash and stocks. What would be the best portfolio for these scenarios?
I've thought a lot about this under similar scenarios over the years, and more now that I'm getting ready to retire. My conclusion is that it doesn't matter. What does matter is a strong community. Your 100K is worthless. Community is priceless.
And we ran across this crazy cat today -

Hello you crazy Peepers. I thought I'd share some recent pictures from Aomori, Japan. First up - rice.

Cool idea! Maybe mint their own coins? Will let you know if I come up with any ideas that could be interesting for HS students.
I considered that after posting! I mean they have class rings, why not a class token?

I have a few instances bookmarked, i.e., marriage licenses in Utah. But any relevant HS projects or actual applications appreciated. Obviously porn and gambling won't work! These kids have no idea of what's happening.
There's the Wikipedia mirror, and I'll be setting up subdomains for them for individual use with dnslink and ipfs so they can take ownership of sorts. Any thoughts?

My dilemma is that I'm hoping to start a Web 3.0 club in my high school in the fall, and I'm looking for actual applications of Web 3.0, like Peepeth. I'll be introducing kids to IPFS, Solid, blockchain, etc., but I'm in need of real life applications, like Peepeth.

Wherever you are, I want to be there. We need a machine that will allow us to transpose our locations at will. Wouldn't that be a gas?

Is it worth it for either btc and eth? Mining crypto on my smartphone doesn't make sense to me economically.
Yeah... looked into mining briefly and determined it wasn't worth it. ETH 2.0 with POS may hold promise for miners. I think proof of stake is the way of the future. Proof of work will become outdated soon. It's pointless on a phone.

Sadly, I think it's already died in the US although other countries still have some form of democracy. Ever think it's strange that most countries can have elections with minimal fuss but the US needs a 2-year media circus?
It's all theater.
Going offline for now. Stay healthy everyone!

A routine illness shouldn't mean someone goes bankrupt. Nobody chooses to get ill. The for-profit model needs to be abolished - everywhere. I'm lucky. I have (mostly) free healthcare and EU-wide cover in case of accident when travelling, etc.
Everyone working for the US government has socialized medicine, essentially. All the senators, representatives, all the military, everyone, has excellent, socialized health care. And yet, most of those same politicians demonize the very care they have. It's a sickening situation

I saw a news report the other day of a sick man getting hooked up to a ventilator and his only thought was "who's going to pay for this?" It's just sad. Plenty of countries can manage free healthcare, you'd think it would be a priority at a time like this.
Don't even get me started on that. I grew up in the US. I can't live there again because I would have no health care. I'm better off in almost any other country. Well, once I turn 65 I can move back to the US and be covered by medicare. Until then, forget it.

I agree, and for all those reasons, if he wins the next election, then we know the US is really messed up. If 2016 was a fluke, history might forgive it. But if he gets reelected, then it marks a dark, dark era. It would suggest to me that humanity is in for very hard times.
And I say humanity because, although the US election obviously does not represent the world, there was a time when US democracy did represent the world's best hope for self government. Those days are gone. If democracy dies in the US, that will be a bad sign for humanity.

I actually start to wonder if he's just gone insane. It's just constant lies and misinformation, but at a cost of people's lives. The amount of conspiracy theories floating around his supporters is at dangerous levels. The way he treats the press is disgusting.

4/ The same with healthcare. Something like $40k average bill for covid-19 treatment in the US??! How is anyone out of work supposed to be able to pay for that?
Well, they're not. They're meant to go bankrupt. Also, hospitals, once those people can't pay, can deduct those unpaid bills from their taxes, so it benefits the hospitals to overcharge the uninsured. That is the US system.

1/ Every day recently has seen a new low from him. Trying to buy up German vaccine companies for "Americans only", stealing medical equipment meant for other countries (France, Canada, Barbados & others), blocking medical supplies meant for Iran, the constant China-bashing
What's frightening is that the US somehow just puts up with his bullshit. The mainstream media is calling him out, and yet...
