@bevan Hi Bevan, have you considered claiming peep.eth through ENS for future web3 implementation instead of relying on some subdomain? It's still available.
Just bought the domain lex.eth through ENS, must say I was pleasantly surprised how seamless the experience was, being someone who rarely interacts with wallets or dApps I thought the whole ordeal would be a bit more daunting than it was.
Just installed MetaMask on Android as part of the early access, very exciting. Simplifying the process to access the Ethereum network with apps like this is a huge step towards mainstream adoption.
Just tried the first iteration of Brave Core (0.55x). The reward system seems promising and the browser is as fast as anyone can expect. Since it now supports all Chrome extensions, now is the time to switch of you haven't!

I like spending ETH on tokens I can actually use. Like #BAT in conjunction with #bravebrowser or even #BNB for fees on #binance.
Or GNT (Golem) if you happen to need some processing power at some point. These tokens are great examples of utility in an ecosystem that will do many good things for consumers going forward...

I texted 2 people and they were happy to hear Peepeth could be a possible solution to the widespread manipulation of data in social media. They had no idea crypto could change the paradigm. 7.4Bn ppl to go and I have an unlimited text service.
Well we have to start somewhere and for now word-of-mouth is the best way to attract interest among people outside of the crypto-sphere. Having a bunch of crypto enthusiasts in one place is great for dialogue and innovation but won't necessarily foster mainstream growth over time

Lot of people are unaware of Peepeth
Understatement of the year ;-)

I'd send it to a friend's metamask wallet to convince them to sign up to peepeth. People go mental, at the mention of needing to have some small money on a wallet for social media.
I've gotten the same reaction when mentioning Peepeth to friends. Add it to the fact that none of them own ether, it's an uphill struggle to say the least. I've offered to send them some ether to start with and hopefully one day if this thing gets bigger they'll want an invite.

#Ethereum: The Missing Piece of the Internet https://medium.com/digitex-futures/ethereum-the-missing-piece-of-the-internet-2c165b1c8e5d
Great article. There were some viewpoints here I hadn't considered before, just goes to show how massive the potential of the Ethereum network really is. Especially when you start thinking about the distant and not just the near future.

new vinyl!!
Wow, now I'm jealous, because I seriously love that album. Thanks for the reminder that I need to buy a record player!

Probably should have bee dApp wallet - but then the name is too long. This will confuse people a little, but I think they can cope. @darius Is this a good question for you?
Then again, you need a 'wallet' to have an identity on the Blockchain, but that could be sufficently explained through an introduction-process while in the app itself. Again, a matter of perception for new users. Just my 2c...

So Toshi is now 'Coinbase Wallet'. I suppose a rebranding is a logical step for them, but considering they already have their exchange-app with an integrated wallet the wording of this change makes me confused, and I would assume new users even more so. Or is it just me?
Yes, I see apps like Status and this one as a browsers, for lack of a better word. A lot of people understand the concept of browsers and it would make sense to market it in that fashion contrary to just a wallet. I feel like a user's perception of a service is key to adoption.

Cipher was acquired by Toshi... so Toshi will likely be more like Cipher was as time goes on. Check out Trust, too - also very popular and coded by a resident Peeper.
Thanks, I'll check it out!
Finally got around to setting up this thing through Toshi, perhaps I can be more active now! I've heard people that use Cipher too, is there much difference between the two?

Thanks for sharing. I have listened to this track many times. RIP Susuma Yokota. https://soundcloud.com/jake-muir/yokota-tribute
Thanks Bevan, I'll bookmark this one for work tomorrow!
Currently listening to Susumu Yokota - Blue Sky and Yellow Sunflower, what are the rest of you peepers listening to on this Sunday?

Twitter Problem #2: Twitter can close my account. blocking access to all my followers. Couldn't Peepeth (with proprietary Peepeth front end) do this?
Now, I cannot speak for @bevan but my conclusion from speaking with folks in the crypto-sphere is that we want to move away from the centralized way of governing. I believe that silencing your opposition usually leads to you inadvertently strengthening their position further. /2

In theory yes, but if I may speculate on the matter I'd say the chance for this sort of action to occur is low. I think, and hope, that the idea behind a platform like this is to give the users tool to censor their own experience rather than letting the platform do it for them./1
Excellent news. Seems like development is moving towards PoS more rapidly each day. For what it's worth, I also quite like your posts on /r/ethtrader DCinvestor, glad to have you here as well.

Hi Peeps. I'm looking for a progression of ~5 very "plain speak" articles on blockchain- moving from foundational concepts to smart contracts to how Ethereum works to Ethereum's implications / use cases. I have many people at work and elsewhere asking for this. Any suggestions?
This one is my favorite, however it might not suite your needs in this instance. Definitely worth a read if you haven't.

I guess ^^ I will not be that easily manipulated by myself though :P Running the main net beta client has to do for now.
Fair enough! I'd argue using the client is more valuable for the team than anything else at this stage.

Morning peeple! I had a weird dream last night. I was giving somebody the full-on sales pitch for the Golem Network. The weird thing is I 1. do not hold any of their tokens and 2. am not a sales person. oO
Perhaps it's a subconscious message for you to invest in the project? ;-)

I guess I should be more clear. I’m not wanting a less-blue light version. F.lux and night shift on macOS and iOS handle that automagically. I’m looking for something that is essentially inverted colors. See screenshot of Tweetbot as an example.
I probably should've been more clear as well. I used to get bad headaches during nights, so for those sites with a pesky white UI f.lux did wonders. I gather you prefer dark mode for aesthetic rather than health-related reasons so we'll just have to wait now that @bevan is aware.

I’m a big fan of both f.lux and night shift, too. But white backgrounds are still less than ideal to look at in the dark, imo. Maybe a native iOS app that supports iOS smart invert. Or just a night/dark mode option.
I had the same issue before getting f.lux, and what worked for me was manually setting the software to change to "night mode" an hour or two before the sun actually set in my area. You should also be able to adjust the yellow tone during this time. Worked wonders for me.

The projects called hoard.exchange. Its a platform to give real ownership to virtual assets. Like in video games 🎮 or VR So like if you have a sword & went on vacation, another player could rent it w/a smart contract & youd earn 💰 Also enables assets to be used in >1 game
Sounds interesting. Best of luck to you and the project - I'd imagine there's a lot of potential customers out there, unbeknownst to them of course.

Would love to be able to tip smaller amounts too. Like $0.1 USD, $0.2 USD, $0.5 USD before the $1 USD.
Agreed. Cc @bevan

Haha, no, unfortunately not.
My very first peep (hopefully one of many). Hi.
