That's an interesting idea. I wonder if simply issuing smaller waste containers could also have an impact. I've noticed they're smaller in Germany (at least where I was) which made me think more about waste.
Sure, it would have an impact, the signalling is roughly as important as the size and reduced cost with fixed fees only. However, as discussed at the page, the Bjuv-like weight-based residual, compost and 9 recyclable fractions scheme with other considerations seems much better.
Hey peeps, I have a proposal to incentivize waste reduction by weighing general waste and charging rate payers on a per kg basis for the general waste. Read more at https://iwr-wasteless.github.io/iwr/. Public support for the idea is necessary for trialing with a local council!

Yay sharding!! Welcome James. Scale scale scale.
Thanks, also to @dean and @CallMeGwei! Sorry for the belated reply! I have now set up email notifications, verified Github, authorized cross-posts to Twitter. Good to see these features, locking + more! I've been working on gossipsub (more efficient libp2p messaging) since ~June.

Shameless promo for sharding development: https://github.com/Drops-of-Diamond/diamond_drops. Also more people working on Casper CBC is needed for sustainability of Ethereum, however sharding probably needs to be developed first since that's easier than developing Casper CBC first
