A stroll by the lake.

From yesterday. What a blessing to live near the forest.

I would love to start a public gist file for peepeth and verify my github account on Peepeth. What code do you want me to paste into it?
Hey Jeremy, that is currently disabled, I have to fix it first. Thanks for asking though!

Lol, welcome back Stuart.

#30DayPhotoWalkChallenge #Day20 A trio of owls seen on today’s walk. Time I got a field guide to better identify birds.
I think there’s only one or two in this pic though.

@Bevan when you gonna make this thing mainstream. Twitter doesn’t promote peace and harmony!
Appreciate the encouragement! Would love to do so.

Welcome Austin, and nice car!

And I didn’t find Old Survivor (the big redwood I was looking for). I was on the wrong trail, apparently. It’s a small park, but I was time-constrained, so will continue my quest another day.
Another unusual sight from the day’s walk. That structure was making a beeping noise as though something were wrong.

The wildflowers were in bloom. Their cheeriness contrasted with the park’s eerie feel.
More ambiance. This may have been fake cobweb, strange as that sounds. Felt like cotton.
I followed him to this clearing, where he then jumped into the bush beyond.
And then... a coyote! My second sighting in two days, very unusual.
This gang sign added to the ominous vibe.
Aside from the traffic noise, I only saw 2-3 other people in the park. After I saw this I had little desire to remain.
The park did not have a tranquil vibe, unlike my regular haunt. The noise from the highway below was quite loud. There was also a fair amount of litter and graffiti in the park, and a strange chemical smell in one place.
I eventually found that there was a gap in the fence so I went in.
It seemed like an unlikely home for an ancient redwood.

Today I learned there is one remaining old-growth redwood left in the Oakland hills: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Survivor

My mission today was to find this tree.
Had a hard time finding the trailhead. The park was surprisingly small and urban, surrounded on all sides by highway, a college, and residential streets. There park itself appeared fenced off.
Here’s a pic from near the start of the trail.
Today I learned there is one remaining old-growth redwood left in the Oakland hills:
I was lucky to spot this coyote. The first time I’ve seen one in this park.
The sky framed the trees and the trees framed the sky.
I unfortunately can’t share with you the smells and sounds, or the feeling of the ground beneath my feet.
Lots to experience, up, down, left, right. It’s a shame to just keep one’s eyes on the path.
I stopped a lot during this walk.
Enjoyed the features of the trail, big and small.

Thoroughly enjoyed my walk this evening.
From the other day, this thing is still up.

@bevan I changed my Twitter username recently and now the Peepeth verification of my account with Twitter displays the old username which is no longer available. Is it possible to verify my Peepeth account again with the new Twitter username?
Hey Petar, it's not currently possible as I have to fix that feature, but in the future, yes!
