it only covers about 1% of the 4000+ sq. mile island. no one but the residents in the immediate areas should need to evacuate. the other volcanoes are active but not like this, and they probably won't erupt any time soon. we are lucky to be able to share pele's land.

today is my last day on the island and while i am busy cleaning and preparing, a new life is coming into the world! two of my dearest friends are having their first baby, and i may not be around to meet him in person but just knowing that he is here at last is so exciting! ❤️

i'm on the complete opposite side of the island. quite safe from lava/heavy ash. the continuing ash explosions from the crater are making the air rather thick over here, though. worst i've ever seen today. it's like driving around in fog during winter time.

haven't posted a lava update in a while. this is some incredible footage of what has been going on the past few days. no signs of stopping. i feel for those who have lost their homes but am grateful all lives are accounted for.

i personally feel too confined to mobile to participate with most of these dapps, but i think it's incredible all the same that you are able to! especially as accessibility to mobile becomes more prevalent over desktops. #lkie

#reflection 5: on a lighter note, i am incredibly grateful and humbled to have friends here that i can call family, who will help me when i need it most. i don't know what i would do without them.

#reflection 4: make sure all your ducks are in a row before you let them swim off. i am still having to learn that leaving an island can be much harder than getting to one. i shouldn't have assumed i could dodge the red tape.
