Lots of reorg discussions today within the company. Thankfully, MUCH smaller than last year, but it's always jarring to see big chunks of the company move around.
when i read "big chunks of the company", for some reason i envision departments as impossibly-fast-moving glaciers. ha!

accepted a job downtown with a fun and exciting crew. at the same time, i'm going to dive into getting my technical background up to speed so that i can make a sound transition later on down the line. the next year is going to be exciting! :)
@balresch @abcoathup @kumaran @natestipe thank you all so much!
@d2r2 thank you! i do dread starting a new job and having to learn where things are, everyone's names, etc. it's hard. however, i believe that this environment is a little more laid back and that is a huge plus! :)

Behind the chalet there's a steep path that descends all the way to the little touristy town of Sinaia, in which we saw several chamois (Alpine goats). Unfortunately, they were too far away to get a decent photo, so here's another representative of wildlife #acrossRomania 😁
looking at this makes me feel peaceful. #lkie

Anyone here know why I couldn't get Peepeth to work via Status on Android? I had to fall back onto Trust (but then it worked like a charm!)
welcome to peepeth, joey! is there a reason to use status over trust? in any case, hope you found a solution!

I like the Southeast Asian options here. Burma Superstar (three locations) is really good if you arrive early (no reservations, popular), and there are a number of good Thai places. Gordo and Taqueria Sinaloa are good taco standbys. I'm getting hungry now! :)
looks like i'll be picking the car up next monday (yay!). haven't had thai or even much asian food in a while, but definitely willing to treat myself. thanks for the suggestions! :)

The east bay has some cool neighborhoods and a lot of good eateries; what kind of food do you like? My favorite part of the east bay (you guessed it) is the long ridge of hills / parks running north-south. There are all kinds of gems scattered about, though.
my motto for food these days pretty much is, "whatever's clever". hit me! :) and if time permits, i'll try to walk around as well (especially after eating, haha).

Absolutely disappointed & confused as to why the NY Comic Con badge process is soo convoluted. Show Clix account needed yet they can't help with my badge issue. According to an email there's a badge violation but nothing shows in my account. Can't wait till next year... #NYCC
show clix is awful to deal with. had major issues getting concert tickets earlier this year for an event at AX. i don't understand why the convention companies are using them when show clix has really crappy UI/UX and such a poor track record for customer service.

Danish fun: 'ingenting' which is a meringue drizzled w/ rum: “When guests had munched their way through six hard cakes, they would be asked what they could still eat. ‘Nothing,’ they would usually reply, and would promptly be offered ingenting (nothing).” https://buff.ly/2MNXXMc
great article, thanks for the link! this pastry person approves. 👍
why is it that the journey back always feels shorter? of course, i say that as soon as we start hitting some traffic. 😜 #roadtrip

I'm no stranger to hand-washing my clothes, but when it's not sunny and when there's no public tap (with a bit of privacy added, so no city centers...yet). And the kind lady said she'd wash it even though they don't have that service for their guests ☺️
that is so sweet! there definitely still is kindness in the world. :) she wanted to make sure you got back on the road looking your best!
the concert last night was so much fun! everyone showed so much love 🌈❤️ for ✨AQOURS✨ and their first solo live in north america. i hope they come back next year but i am so happy we got to see them at all! #dreamscometrue #anime #roadtrip
the convention center. unfortunately we won't be attending the actual con, but it was still cool to see. the last time i was here for AX was in 2005... my, how things have changed! #anime #roadtrip

Couple of hours later I was in a clean and dry room of a pension in a town called Curtea de Argeș, after arranging with the landlady in my broken Romanian for my clothes to be washed. This will give me a chance to recharge all the devices as well. #acrossRomania
glad to see you got to make a pit-stop to recharge. :)

I've seen that too. I think people were mad at almond growers' water use during the drought, so maybe that was the farmers' protest?
not sure what the crops were that the signs appeared by, but a two-part sign with the same message followed not too long after the first. it would seem they are there to stay. lots of interesting political minutae in an otherwise sparse locale.
I-5 is so boring and yet this mystery springs up as we continue into the LA basin. #roadtrip

Had Ace the Creator (Tyler the Creator) Odd Toddlers on that 2011 podcast when folks didn't know what to do with Odd Future. I might release just the music mix by itself, it's 21 tracks of music goodness.
down with this. #lkie

That's good to hear. It's been awhile since I've been up there, but still have fond memories of the train museum :) The east bay has also been undergoing change, not all of it good unfortunately. But it's still a great place to be.
i am from the railroad city to the east, in placer county. trains everywhere! oldtown sac is still pretty nifty to visit, too.
definitely need to make a bay area run. i'll be picking up my car in oakland eventually. anything cool to see down there? places to eat?

Need you to explain more to portray what was going on. Stage ...at a kitchen? Are you a chef?
not a chef. :) pastry professional, or pastry cook. big difference between that and chef. a stage (pronounced stahj) is where you basically go to help out for a time and they assess your immediate skillset. i like it better than just doing a walkthrough or spoken interview.
Replying to @Bevan (0x30755d3e65c0cf46c35b72d11e52d941c5fc3a3e)
Good to hear it went well and you got to make things. I hope it works out! How has it changed since you were gone?
thank you! fingers crossed. there has been a lot of new development in areas that weren't before. eateries, housing, businesses in general moving in. venues that weren't popular when i lived down there now see thousands on event days. it's really exciting.
