I wrote my first blog post! It's about my obsession with crypto and the blockchain and why I don't actually have time to explain it. Why I am the way that I am: https://medium.com/@kevin_weaver/why-i-am-the-way-that-i-am-292e6c696df7

Come on, you took all the fun out of it. You know that anything advanced enough to create some sort of highly intricate simulations must be pretty high tech. Which probably means there are no jobs for them to do... so they'd all be sitting around watching their simulations. God does not play dice. No... but maybe it plays The Sims?
Yeah, I asked this at work and the Sims was another common response to this.

If we are living in a simulation the question "why was this simulation created?" is a fun one. And what stimuli (papers,humans,..) in this simulation might be inserted to control it.
My best guess is: An advanced civilization's attempt to anticipate the problems they may encounter. If I had infinite compute power, I would spin up a few trillion universes with very slight differences, turn the speed up to 10 and watch how civilizations succeed and fail.

Would anyone be interested in the concept of a VR DAO? The focus would be to simply experiment with and build tooling for the mechanics of meeting like minded DAO enthusiasts in virtual reality. Attending DAO vr meetings could earn tokens that can be utilized in DAO votes etc
VR DAO votes could be used to determine agenda at future DAO meet ups. For instance, EthNYC used 3D cameras to live stream conference talks, which would make for an awesome DAI group viewing experience.

Great article by Vitalik! Awesome to have a well spoken Eth founder: https://vitalik.ca/general/2019/05/09/control_as_liability.html?utm_source=share

Hey Kevin
I’ve realized that the majority of my peeps are sent while I’m showing off and explaining peepeth to others. Thanks for the kind replies Andrew :D

Definitely not meant as an r/IAmVerySmart quote, but is it insane to anyone else just how relatively simple mimble wimble is? I could have never come up with it, but as I’m learning about it, I was anticipating it would involve some insane new calculus.
Not hand waving over the complexities either. I’m barely even familiar with elliptic curve math. But I guess I just assumed that a huge increase in scalabity and privacy would require wild complexity. Here’s an article about Grin https://link.medium.com/BIyPoY38QU

Better conversation display is needed, thanks for bringing that up.
I appreciate the reply! Wasn't a jab at you either, just realizing that I've been replying wrong so far.

I’m not a game developer. Though I have opinions.
Realizing I responded to the original peep to ask for your opinions. I find the flow of peep threads to be strange/hard to follow :/

Any blockchain game developers on here? I'm starting a project and considering my high-level infrastructure. Watching some helpful talks and reading a ton, but would love to chat with someone in the space already.
I’ll take em! I’m starting to look into Loom and other gaming focused side chains and tokens.

Fantastic. Thanks for sharing! Did he have any issues, conceptual or otherwise? (I only ask because we're often discussing how potential users view the platform...)
It was a little too surface level to go very deep. I just discussed the benefits of decentralization, the flow of data, and showed off metamask. But I am also always thinking about the best way to introduce people to the ecosystem if you have ideas!

Did you explain Peepeth while you were at it? How'd it go?
I did! He's a software engineer, though not involved in blockchain, but he understood the high-level premise and benefits.

Luckily, the discomfort went away after about 20 minutes. Things started getting more interesting after that point. With minimal sensations, your thoughts get really "loud". It also felt much easier to stay focused on the sensations of breathing.
I've used a sensory deprivation tank a few times and have experienced a similar scenario. Your thoughts are very loud and it very clearly amplifies the difficulties in "thinking about nothing". I will say, each time I've gotten better at it and enjoyed it more and more.

That was my thinking at first but I came around to the visuals which caters to all & not just us early adopters. One of the things that made me shy away at first from Eth is how out of place I felt, even as a creative, all I saw were devs and no one explaining it in simple terms.
Ah, that's a helpful perspective. Thanks! I'm alway open to learn more if you have any recommendations.

I’ve been watching, reading a lot in telegram and with devs themselves. As far as sites are concerned, are you looking for in depth dev talk or sites to go read?
Sorry for the delay. I'd be open to in-depth dev talks if you have any recommendations :)

I'm a fan of Tron, many give it shit but that's when they don't delve a lil deeper into it also based on bias sadly. From what it was to where it is now is an impressive jump.
From my somewhat outsider perspective, it seems that their marketing efforts are a double edged sword. Their futuristic website intro video reallllly makes it sound like vaporware.. :/

I haven't followed Tron much, do you recommend any resources that highlights the differences/similarities between Tron and Eth?

@abcoathup As someone who seems pretty active on Peepeth, do you recommend any interesting projects that you're following on here?
Added.
I've been using Trust, though I'm curious about other dapp browsers, so I'll check those out.
Thanks!

Haven't heard of Goerli. How does it differentiate from other test nets? Seems interesting regardless :)

Is there a reason why Peepeth doesn’t accept ether donations for the malaria fund? I understand that the charity may ultimately prefer USD, but couldn’t that be exchanged after the donation is made via ether, and therefore somewhat more anonymously?
Ah makes sense. I’ll purchase mine shortly. I appreciate the reply! And I appreciate the emphasis on altruism here. :)
