Reading your profile helped, so I will make my question more specific: What are your favorite RPGs? I have always been a fan of (old) Vampire the Masquerade, play D&D 5th edition every other week and would love to play Shadowrun or Cyberpunk again in the future, to name a few.
In case you missed this @thorstie, forgot to @ you. Thank you for your response.
I am part of a 'Verein' of roleplayers which is based in Schwentinetal nowadays - I will let you know when they have the next 'Rollenspielseminar', which happens twice a year.

'Gaming purposes', I #lkie the sound of that! What kind of games do you play?

Hey! I'm often near Ascheberg visiting a friend, so I know Plön of course! Great to be greeted by someone who was born nearby there. Greetings from Kiel to Hamburg! I sometimes visit Hamburg for gaming purposes.

Hi! I'm starting with a cloudy image from the town Kiel, where I live. Looking forward to meeting people here who are into open-source, Linux, roleplaying games, general nerds. :)
Hey Thorsten, welcome to Peepeth! I am living in Hamburg right now, but grew up in Plön - so Kiel feels like home :)

#lkie, a dream of mine is to go to a festival in every country in Europe
I #lkie that (pretty ambitious) idea! Germany does offer a lot in that regard, as does the rest of Europe.

Maybe I'll try later, with a straight #X11 session instead of one "transparently" nested #Wayland. This was my first actual test run of #Augur, too, so I'm trying hard not to blame these glitches on it.
TBH I have no experience running it on a non-Windows system whatsoever. :/

I was going to support the Peepeth Kickstarter but I will no longer be considering it. Peepeth is NOT decentralized if they can censor.
Dude, read the peeps and research the tech behind it. This is not censorship and you, @ROMANSTENNINE and a couple of other folks are simply overreacting to a frontend-only tryout-feature of an unfunded project. Calm your shit dudes, wtf. #nsfw #politics #rageonthechain
Replying to @sevvie (0xb9a7922eec475605498ba3c1f7f0aca98585f30a)
I agree with this quite a bit. I've been saying it for a while; we should be able to opt-in or opt-out of having nsfw or political posts hidden.
Yeah, and I fully expect it to evolve into that in the near future. But be aware that this is a one man show right now and the funding process has just started. We have to give it some time. @calllmegwei
Replying to @sevvie (0xb9a7922eec475605498ba3c1f7f0aca98585f30a)
Oh aye. But this is why I am arguing the larger point; if Peepeth wishes to be THE social network on the Ethereum network, it might wish to consider remaining agnostic, and open-sourcing the frontend.
I would wish for the Peepeth backend to be THE distributed social network and for Peepeth.com to be the friendly, positive, critical and open minded place I came to love.
Replying to @sevvie (0xb9a7922eec475605498ba3c1f7f0aca98585f30a)
They did it to @Fulcrum's post. They've done it to @ChiliMac's posts.
Yes. And they would do it to me too if I posted political content repeatedly, even if I argue against Trump. The difference is that I am not doing that, nor is anybody else right now. That is where the imbalance comes from, not the way flags are handled.
Replying to @sevvie (0xb9a7922eec475605498ba3c1f7f0aca98585f30a)
You misrepresent my words. This frontend is currently the primary and only frontend, but if this frontend uses similar tactics to Twitter and Facebook, it is no alternative at all to those driven away from those platforms.
Your assumption that this is a platform meant for the ones who are driven away from other platforms is just that, an assumption. I am not Bevan, but I think it is plain wrong.
Replying to @sevvie (0xb9a7922eec475605498ba3c1f7f0aca98585f30a)
@balresch You're mistaken about one thing; there are people who are able to mark posts as n-s-f-w or pol-itics. Forgive me for not replying directly to your post, but the infectious nature of that tag is a feature I wish to avoid entirely.
Sure there are people who are able to do that. I was saying that they are not doing it, not like you described it. This is about creating a friendly environment for all of us, not about taking away your right to have your own opinion.
Replying to @sevvie (0xb9a7922eec475605498ba3c1f7f0aca98585f30a)
I didn't use the word shadowbanning, because I don't see it as shadowbanning. It is, however, sweeping matters under the rug, and only those matters from one side of the aisle. There have been many peeps of a po-litical nature which are not forceably hidden: Anti-Trump.
Maybe because the feature didn't exist back than? Guessing.
What I can tell you with certainty: There is neither an algorithm nor a person who scans political content for 'side' and flags only one. Every post tagged #politics is hidden - no matter how it speaks of Trump.
Is it using similar tactics, though? I think there is a lot of overreaction about a work-in-progress feature on a work-in-progress platform. Which only masks content, but does not hide it completely. And it is transparent! How can this be compared to shadowbanning? I don't get it
Replying to @sevvie (0xb9a7922eec475605498ba3c1f7f0aca98585f30a)
I know what has been said before. "If you don't like it, you can make your own frontend." But this is getting it backwards. If you wish for a frontend that hides from you what you do not like, this should be the alternative and not the primary. The firehose should be unimpeded.
But this is 'the alternative' right now, isn't it? This platform does not want to cater to everybody. It tries to create a friendly and productive environmentm for like minded peeple - while still being welcome to everybody else.

Makerdao/DAI, Augur & Gnosis, Golem, ENS ... Not to mention the scaling projects: OMG, Loom, Raiden, etc... Most promising governance effort might be the Council of the Fellowship of the Ethereum Magicians... but I am just a humble speculator.
Wow, I don't think I have seen a list like that before where I know and like every single project. +1!

So now censorship is “simple”. Wow, okay. Thought peepeth was different but now I’m just closing my account. Good luck with this platform.
You are throwing everything into one bucket and calling it 'censorship'. This is not censorship.
Bye Brandon, may you find a place that suites your expectations.

Wow, really!? This was “moderated” the instant I posted. #algorithym? For shame @Bevan. For shame... ✌️
It is 'moderated' because the post you replied to was already tagged. No algorithms or magic involved, just a very simple (and work in progress) function.

Self tagging isn’t silencing. You don’t shout in a library. But the person next to you can talk quietly about politics if you both want.
I was still trying (and failing) to form a proper English sentence. Thank you for speaking my mind.

ironically this peep was flagged as political as well.
The first peep is flagged because of the hashtag you used, the second is flagged because it is a reply to the first one.

So much of the cryptocurrency news space is filled with pure garbage.
Sometimes I accidentaly click on a link on cryptopanic, just to find out that it leads me to cryptodaily.co.uk

Yeah, there is sooo much to explain about MakerDAO, it's quiteoverwhelming no matter what angle you tackle it from. I tried to single out one specific use case out of the many use cases the system offers. It took me quite some time to wrap my head around everything. Ty very much!

Other than the Dept->Debt typo, LGTM. That said, as a commenter mentioned, the domain knowledge required to truly understand what's going on there is huge. Wish I knew before first trying to do that (or had seen a disclaimer to such effect). Got a headache instead. ~8|

It certainly tells me that voyager is a valued member of the community -- but not that I am. It has distinctly given me the impression that choosing to temporarily mute for the purposes of avoiding stress and conflict will be looked down upon.
If nobody valued you, why should anybody step in to 'save you' from missing voyager's content?
About the mute: I am sure everybody agrees that in the end of the day, you are the master of your mute list. Use it as you see fit.
Replying to @sevvie (0xb9a7922eec475605498ba3c1f7f0aca98585f30a)
The only thing it tells me is that I am an outsider, and will be judged hypocritically by the community that exists here.
I don't get that. Doesn't it tell you that both you and voyager seem to be valued by the community?

I find this very strange. No one is suggesting others "pause a day" before muting @ChiliMac; and yet, you and another have made the same suggestion of me for the very act of considering the implications of my muting @voyager temporarily.
That should tell you something :)
