So users don't have to understand anything about BAT. All they have to do is just browse the web normally and the monthly token accumulation and re-distribution happens automatically. By using Brave you support sites who wish to stay ad-free.
But doesn't the BAT browser have ad block built in natively? Or is it just for cookies?

That’d be cool, but could also slow things down. I love working in groups and getting feedback from community, but often times it really is faster and more efficient to handle some things independently. I support Peepeth either way :)

Incidentally, I love how quoted Twitter tweets get embedded inline in the Peepeth interface. Between this and the "peep and tweet at the same time" feature, great way to erode network effect moats all around! #TearDownThatWall

I did. Curious to see this project grow. Even before cyptos I dreamed and debated open source/peer to peer models of social networks. I always wanted to see something done regarding current model (centralised, private, exploitative, manipulative)

Yeah, I threw in $25. I'd prefer if Peepeth front-end was made open source and the community could vote on proposals based on some form of network credibility.

Peepeth doesn't have to show ads to benefit from Brave. Brave users who view ads on other sites will redirect those funds to Peepeth. Check out https://basicattentiontoken.org/ for more on how it works. It'll be invisible for all peepeth users unless they use Brave.
I see. Why wouldn't most people just use their built-in ad blocker and avoid the complexity of the BAT token economics?

I tried but someone suggested to use Trust instead of status. But I think you need to simply when creating a new wallet import the private seed from the wallet you use on the desktop. That'd what I did on Trust and it worked.

I second this. Huge fan of the Brave vision. It dovetails perfectly with an ad-free dApp like Peepeth.
What would verifying do if there are no ads on Peepeth? I also thing Peepeth should have an ad supported version that you can turn on if you want to collect BAT.

You have great content in your posts! I’m curious, is hodling all it takes to be a Cardano staker?
I believe this will work in their main Daedalus app. However, the light client that is in progress + Daedalus will both allow you to choose a staking pool to delegate your votes on proposals and to have a better chance at earning interest on the staked coins. #cardano

You could ask most coins at coinmarketcap: "would it work without cryptocurrency behind it?" If the answer "yes", perhaps it's a failure because it means they are building something that already exists only adding cryptocurrency to it. #coin #crypto #cryptocurrency
I don't think that's a good enough assessment. Airbnb and Uber work without crypto, however, they would work even better without a middleman taking a huge chunk of the earnings.

How do i store these secret phrases secretly? My real wallet is filled with sticky notes.
Write them on a piece of paper and store them in a small safe that you keep at home OR save them to a USB drive and save that in the safe OR just trust Google Drive, Box, or Dropbox and save it to an unnamed file.
