Cheers - thought it would be as simple as that :-)

May 14, 2018 07:56

@vikmeup does the Trustwallet dapp browser have webcrypto support? Thought I would ask before spending the time to build something which might not work.

Some links here: https://twitter.com/BraytonKey/status/988566295976165376 Tons of learning resources in our Knowledge Base, specifically: https://support.mycrypto.com/diving-deeper/links-you-should-read-next.html

Cheers @tay, I'll check these out and throw them into the appropriate section. Bonus pic: the Web3.Melbourne community at the third weekly hack last night, sponsored by @flex.

A section on related concepts might be worthwhile? Relay channels, zk-Snarks, TCRs, etc. I'll dig around for some of the good explainers I've found.

Absolutely - I have very little knowledge around a lot of research topics as I've had my head down in app development over the last two years. Please feel free to submit a PR if you have some links you feel will be worthwhile additions.

As someone learning/messing with Solidity, this sounds like a fantastic idea! Once I'm competent enough with writing Solidity, I'll be contributing!

Would love to know the resources you're using, the more the merrier.

For the http://web3.melbourne community, I've started creating a learning resources document to bring people through all the broad strokes they need in order to start creating Ethereum applications. I would love it if people helped write it. https://bit.ly/2FbRp5X

Disclaimer: I spent 20 minutes on this before 9am, I know it's nowhere near acceptable. Would even be great if folks just dumped URLs on me that I could go through and add to the relevant section later.

Right?? I was liking his analysis until he got to the "AHAH! A curve!!!" moment. My understanding was that curve was baked in to the ETH pre-sale!

It was, same with any other crowdsale which has reducing percentage-based bonuses for contributions.

Interesting post from Preston Byrne, one of my favourite writers on crypto who keeps the hype in check. I'm particularly interested on his analysis of the ETH pre-sale, which he says looks wrong. But wasn't it designed to look like that? https://bit.ly/2HXffpe

> compare two graphs
> they look different
> cry foul

Sounds like Preston's MO. I reckon if you look at a bunch of crowdsales you'll see a graph that looks a lot like the ETH sale graph. Anecdotally, the WeTrust crowdsale exhibited some very similar characteristics.

Melbourne crew, YBF is hosting a fireside chat with Gendry Morales on Thursday this week. Wicked interesting woman with a great vision for mass adoption of blockchain tech. A great event to make time for :-)

Has anyone else noticed Metamask being extremely slow in pushing out transactions to the blockchain?

If your source of truth is Etherscan, you must also consider that it may not be showing you the true state of the network. I've noticed that higher gas price txs tend to show up on Etherscan faster than low gas price txs.

As a graphic designer I am always looking for ways a creative can be paid in the most non-obtrusive way. Recently found out about the #CanYa and #Latium projects, seems close. Looking forward to a way that artists can get paid directly one day from a client using their own UI.

I think #CanYa are still looking for Pioneers, am I correct @jpthor? https://blog.canya.com/2018/03/31/canya-alpha-is-ready/

i'm more intrested in what the people were 3d printing that caused seizure by the police

I think the box has a small bloodstain on, probably just taken as potential evidence. The printer was well used, so the gun suggestion isn't too far fetched.

We'll do our best, though the act of turning a brushstroke into a 3D ring might be a real challenge.

How about the Peepeth mascot similar to the way it appears onscreen so that you can hang in on the corner of your laptop?

Challenge accepted. I promise to have a prototype in one week. Bonus points: it can slide across the top of your laptop to cover the webcam lens.

Apr 19, 2018 23:46

Peepethsphere, @flex has an SLA 3D printer (Formlabs Form 1+) that I picked up for a steal on impulse at a police auction. Might use it for a crypto project where we allow people to pay for prints in ETH, but for now we're taking suggestions on what to print, give us some inspo.

Is it just me or did just about every Cryptocurrency go up significantly right after the United States tax deadline (April 17, 2018 ) passed. Just a Coincidence or is there a reason for that? Any opinions?

Yall probably figured out you didn't have to pay as much tax as previously thought and bought back in. Cheers, same time next year?

Technically it was organised outside of Peepeth on Meetup.com, and they run every week! If you're in Melbourne please come to the next one https://www.meetup.com/Ethereum-Melbourne/events/cvsgppyxgbhc/

No but I played the living crap out of that game on the SNES, and then the family PC when I learned how to install an emulator. One of my least favourite memories is hitting quicksave instead of quickload on the emulator moments before Jools took some lead to the dome.

Maybe the next "War on Drugs" will be a "War on DAOs".

I spent much of today plotting a trip to Iceland with some friends. Should be great but really hard to make decisions. Everything looks cool but all in a very similar way. "Yes, that does seem like an awesome vista of sky, rocks and water. Sure?"

You'll have no trouble seeing everything in the Golden Circle if you go for more than a day. Also highly recommend a hike up Glymur, make sure you cross the river at the top too.

I've got 3000 regularly sized cans buried, and I drive out every month with 3000 incrementally larger cans to put the last batch of cans in, before the cans containing the regularly sized cans expires. And the cycle continues.

If we take the volume of a Campbell's soup can to be 95.4cm^3, and the increments to be 10% each time, it's only going to be summer 2038 before you've buried an Empire State Building's worth of soup cans. I'd like to invest.

Apr 12, 2018 22:54

So you have 3000 buried, is that 1500 slightly larger cans and 1500 regulation sized, or are we dealing with some sort of pyramid structure where two regulation sized cans fit into a slightly larger can and so on?
