If people learn about crypto and erc20 tokens like USDC via Coinbase, (and eventually learn about the benefits of decentralized alternatives) then that's fine by me. 2/2

I disagree, unless we use it as an ice breaker for mainstream audiences to then educate them on actual decentralized platforms. We can easily on-board new users with DAI, this USDC is actually misleading.
They should call it USD credits because that's what they are. Users had USD wallets and now a USDC wallets as well with the extra friction of having to "redeem" them.

Yeah $DAI is better but this will still help drive mainstream crypto adoption.
