i figured it had to do with compression of the thumbnails because the full-sized images don't look bad (to me)? a bit of blurriness and noise are to be expected from cell phones vs professional cameras. also, holy turkeys, batman.
Haha, I couldn't resist. Saw them on the way to the trail and on the way back.
Last #turkey shot for awhile :)

What is your favorite books? #catsofpeepeth #PeepethBooks
Loving this beautiful book. It's about how make nice dwelling spaces, from cities to gardens to rooms. Each 2-page chapter sheds light on human nature.
Would be cool if more tech took take a human-first approach like architecture does.

Will there be anything for the slightly burry looking images on posts? :)
These turkey shots were at full zoom, so that's probably why they were blurry. Do other pics look blurry too? Can tweak the settings.

Coming to a close on my two week straight 15 hour a day work schedule. Final stretch! Ready for a weekend off to get back to grilling, catch up on crypto and just breathe for a day! And catch up with all you guys! 😁 #plumberlife
Looks great Matt! Enjoy that well-earned feast.
Happy Friday / Saturday all! Wild #raspberries

Don't know what Peepeth's smart contracts look like, but you can update fields multiple times and the transaction history shows the changes, right? Appreciate it might not have been a model you considered when you started. :)
Peeps aren't actually persisted to the contract storage space; check out peepeth.com/how and @james article on stateless smart contracts for more: https://medium.com/@childsmaidment/stateless-smart-contracts-21830b0cd1b6

Wouldn't "edit" on a blockchain based microblogging site be a matter of adding a kind of "diff" record and then just apply them sequentially as they appear on the blockchain? @bevan any plans for this? Also autocomplete for mentions and shortcuts for emojis would be great. 🙏
Thanks for the suggestions. Mention autocomplete is in the works now.
Edits are only possible on the front-end. Reluctant to add them because all the back-end data is immutable. Need to better communicate to users the implications of Peeping.

(x_x) too many bugs! I like this pic, real bugs are interesting neighbors.
Every fall (I believe) they abound on trails in the Bay Area. Was really surprised when I saw them for the first time.

Perhaps some metric like steem power but structured so that people who create high quality content is weighed higher than people who don't add to the platform.
Good point. If you (or anyone else) has suggestions for quality metrics that are difficult / expensive to game, please let me know.

Saw this and felt very relevant for the malaria cause you can support here on Peepeth! Great cause @bevan
Very true! Crazy statistic.
By the way, one of the reasons AMF is the top-ranked GiveWell charity is because it is currently underfunded, so additional funds will have a real impact.

The trail network in the Bay Area is amazing. Last year I decided to only hike new trails for awhile; there are still many nearby I haven't tried.

jeez man that's some roughed up shoes. you've been places with them, haven't you?
They tear pretty easily. The sole has very little structure so it puts a lot of strain on the fabric. Seems to be a common problem with this style of shoe.

Let your toes spread naturally and I promise you'll be even more amazed (and perturbed at what the footwear industry has done to us).
I had a pair and wore them out. Even good for backpacking; just had to be more mindful of foot placement. It was harder putting them on, and not as nice on concrete as the flats I wear, but great for forest walks.

Foot wear. What’s your favorite? Being in my industry, I find these perfect for my fat feet. Some say they are overrated, to expensive, etc. I disagree #redwings
Ever since I read "Born to Run" I've worn flat shoes. I wear these to the gym and while hiking. Need a new pair :)

Is it a redwood? Scale might be a bit off, but....... Giant Tree? Or Big Tree?
Yep, @pluma identified it correctly as the General Sherman tree, the most voluminous tree in the world. The General Grant tree (which I also posted a pic of) is the second largest, I believe.
