Hi guys! Can you connect to peepeth from signal.im app on android? I' cant. Message is: Cannot connect to Ethereum. But wallet is connected.

No, same issue. While there is a Status logo on peepeth login page. Maybe @bevan can take a look into it?!

Have you tried https://www.publish0x.com?a=l9avg678bG? You can get crypto currency for writing articles. Similar system to medium.com, just with cryptocurrencies. I have an account there, but I haven't had time to write anything yet :-)

Sounds interesting and looks similar as https://steemit.com/. I am very curious to it, because steemit was sold to TRON. I didn't liked that because I found it too centralized. I hope this will be a good alternative.

I'm serious about getting 100 homeless in SLC, USA 2 ETH each.

Interesting idea. What about spreading 200 ETH to people that will help homeless on platforms such as https://bounties.network/ ? It can start small with 0.05 ETH or so to experiment and ask people to give food, invite them at home or so.

Thanks for the suggestion. That's the plan, although it's not a top priority currently.

Hi @bevan , is there a list of priorities to work on? Are you doing all the work yourself or are others contributing to Peepeth? Is there a way to donate on features?

That's what I figured, thanks. The (desktop) UI just confused me. I didn't find an option to import a wallet at first, it only offered connecting hard wallets and creating a "local" one (sic). This then confused me when I found the import... I'll give it a go.

okay. I hope its clear now and you can import your seed. If it isn't working , give a shout for help, but never share seeds/keys.

Hi @daniellmesquita I am a bit involved in Bittopia University (Decentralized Autonomous University). I think you might find it interesting. It is also using Aragon for its organization. https://bittopia.org/ . It looks like you have great mind that can help this community.

Joining #Peepeth via Desktop now as well!

I am happy it works now and you'll understand the idea about verification with a wallet that is connected to the blockchain, so that you can use it on any device :-)

I wonder, is there a way to link an "external" soft wallet with #brave rather than creating a local one? Or are there no plans for such a feature? Currently I'd rather not spread my few funds cross multiple wallets...

Wallets are never local, just an interface to the blockchain. If you already have an ethereum seed phrase from an other ETH wallet you can import it in Metamask. https://metamask.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015289612-How-to-restore-your-MetaMask-account-from-seed-phrase

It feels a little like the Onion web, without the traffic obscurity. I'm enticed.

TOR is more about privacy and IPFS about distributed hosting. I really love it because it creates abundance of hosting. You can donate Wikipedia some money for hosting or host it together. I prefer the last one. https://en.wikipedia-on-ipfs.org/wiki/

Do share how the webpage goes! Personally don't have the time in the foreseeable future to experiment, unfortunately.

The webpage is just a simple hello world. But for me it is great to learn something new that I can publish it by IPFS instead of HTTP protocol. See my peep https://peepeth.com/jurjendevries/peeps/Qme483u6wh4VDTBFgMvdtVepfdpcX57z7viaK1q8MsqWWd

Yes, nervos.org. It's a smart contract platform with a very different architecture. The goal is interoperability with other blockchains, and it has very unique sustainable tokenomics. I'm currently working on building standards, making tutorials, and helping new developers.

I love developers working on great open source projects. Keep up the good work.

What are the main hurdles preventing/slowing down bitcoin from mainstream adoption? To me there's 5 I can see 1) network is too slow 2) high fees 3) lack of education on how bitcoin works/why it's the best currency 4) scalability 5) high electricity usage. Thoughts?

Depends if you see Bitcoin as asset or payment service. Currently I see for asset it is going more mainstream and for payment Paypal and bitcoin lightning are making it more mainstream.

Hadn't heard of 3Box, looks intriguing. Created a profile but it's randomly picked one of my ENS domains as my subtitle and I can't change it. :/

I would recommend to report this at their Discord support channel https://chat.3box.io/ , they were very helpful to me there in the past. I even got a badge from them for my advanced bug reporting.

Hey Scott! Welcome and sorry for the late reply. Just keep on doin' what you're doin' :) Peepeth is decentralized and immutable, yes, but the actual goal is to create a platform where reactive posts and trolling are taboo, not primarily through moderation but rather through establishing those values as cultural norms,

I am new too and really loved the idea. But when I was scrolling through https://peepeth.com/new I got a lot of reactive posts. What is your opinion on it?

I like Signal, but for decentralization I prefer Status Messenger https://status.im/ #web3
