Happy Tuesday everyone. What can you do today to be kind to yourself ? (because that's the first way to fill your tank and do great things)

Sorry to have lost you. This is unfortunately an all too common sentiment, and rightly so. I wish you all the best in Berlin! New starts... always exciting. Keep us posted!
thank you for the kind words.

Where are you originally from, and why did you choose Berlin?
French, been in London 10years. Brexit made me want to leave for a new home. Berlin had enough points for me to go (friends living there, used to speak German, similar presence of my industry there, + good vegan food...) :)

I'd considered the study of #HumanDesign, and tried it on a MacOS theme for Linux. Btw, actually I'm creating Common Design, which will be a gap for Material Design, Human Design and Fluent Design.
I don't think we're talking about the same thing at all. The Human Design I'm talking about has nothing to do with computers or websites. :)
Discovering #HumanDesign. It's like a Rabbit hole of information I've been diving in, yet still know less than 1% of it. Mind-blowing stuff. Even the tiny bit I have learned has opened a treasure chest of infos to live my life better. Anyone else learning about his around here?
@coinmaster4you2 thanks for the Enso and for sharing :) Have a great week
Reworking my #12weekyear plan. Reviewing this week and planning the next. Always a really grounding exercise. Happy Sunday everyone <3 #GTD #mindset #mindfulness

Haha, I just read this after recommending YNAB in another reply. They're great. Seems like we have the same mindset on these topics. My main point earlier wasn't that budgeting was useless, but that being poor makes people waste a lot of time thinking about money (negative loop)
true. and it also costs more to live when you're poor. I have had some really bad years in my life, and I know how it is to count what I can buy for £3 to feed me for the rest of the week. I don't want to go back there again.

Fair point. Definitely can remove certain unwanted feelings about money like uncertainty how much you have, spending guilt, etc. I think Nat's point is worth entertaining though. The goal is to increase your net worth and after a while, penny pinching is less effective.
check out youneedabudget.com, that will give you a great food for thought about what budgeting can really do for you. Budgeting allows you to spend coherently with your goals. Without a budget, it's like driving with a blindfold. :P

Not so much GTD but I do like to 'diffuse overwhelm' 1. Write down in a notebook every single thing that I want to do or causing anxiety 2. Go through each item scheduling a relevant batch/appointment in the next few days or crossing them out 3. Delete all my old appointments
yes that's a good process. :)

What do you mean by fill your own tank? Welcome @pascale, happy to meet you. You seem interesting :)
it's about making sure your do what you need to recharge your battery. Self-care is a first step to success. Burn out is no fun and unproductive in the long run :) and thanks :)

but budgeting is NOT penny pinching. That's where we disagree at the core. You can spend massively while budgeting. Building your net worth is not the main goal, but that's a usual consequence ;) It's all about awareness, not penny pinching.
Sunday is my favourite day for my weekly review. A walk, a coffee in a nice cafe and my notebooks. Anyone else doing a #GTD review weekly?

[cont] Which leads to less ability to get out of being poor, and perhaps bringing those around you into poor mindsets as well (preoccupation with current means of income, catastrophising, wasting tons of time on e.g https://twitter.com/nateliason/status/1087874809697054720)
Budgeting is never a waste of time. It's not about restraining yourself and feeling miserable. it's about spending with intention and feeling empowered and good about how you spend what you have, according to your values and dreams.
