In about five minutes I will start a live stream that shows how to build a website that can edit and replicate itself with js-ipfs, from scratch! Follow along here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ud7WXPCxHyc

Another fine release is the 0.4.17 version of go-ipfs! Mostly performance improvments and bug fixes, but also the exciting urlstore! Changelog can be found here: https://github.com/ipfs/go-ipfs/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md#0417-2018-07-27

Woho, new version of js-ipfs has been released! Some of the goodies include magical connectivity to make it faster to find content and raw leaves for faster unpacking of data!

More info can be found in the release issue: https://github.com/ipfs/js-ipfs/issues/1458

@bevan Hey, I'd be cool if Peepeth would use in browser IPFS (js-ipfs) instead of relying on a centralized ipfs-to-http gateway. Is that something you folks been thinking about?

Hmm

You can do so now by omitting the "https://". Right now it won't turn it into a link on the front-end, but I'll fix that.

Not sure if it should. URL parsers are hard, http:// is the only 100% indicator something should be a link. Should "hello.world" be a link? Maybe, but maybe not... We should be able to decide if it should be expanded or not, not because omitting the protocol but something else...
