Just read the article, no real mention of the individual risks or the possible systemic risks were a large majority of crypto users using that particular, centralized service. No support for decentralized exhanges, which is a bit of a letdown. Lastly, the link is not httpS...

With tax software you can give read only access, so less of a concern. You can also generally restrict transferring crypto, which is nice. But that doesn't protect against any sort of possible (mass) market manipulation to the benefit of the entity orchastrating your trades.
This is true, I think if you just never looked at it after setting it up then you would fall victim to this, but I would hope that most people would atleast monitor for something like this. You ARE still trusting a 3rd party here, so your point is well taken!

Isn't handing over your api keys a huge issue for people? Is this compatible with decentralized exchanges?
All automated and a lot of portfolio trackers and tax service software use the API's from exchanges. There is always a risk involved for sure though. I list the current exchanges it supports in the article!

So... I think I got it right? Everything seemed to be going good until I tried testing it using Trust wallet, I tried sending eth to wgmeets.eth but it said invalid ethereum address.
Yeah there are quite a few wallets that won't let you use that format... sucks. I tried with Exodus wallet and it would not work there either. More of a novelty at this point I guess
