Mostly due to the "stateless" smart contracts the dapp uses, which significantly reduces storage and therefore gas costs. Puts the onus on the front end to parse the transaction inputs rather than be fed by smart contract events. See more here: https://peepeth.com/front_end

Nice share

It's running on a raspberry pi, so it's likely not very secure. I no longer have access to that one, but I am planning a similar project that will be controlled with smart contracts.

Lol j/k. Smart contract all the things!

This one? http://discotechture.com/ All you have to do is type "g" for green ;) (the video stream is very delayed though)

Is that stoplight trustless and secure?

@gregory When can we get a tutorial on building dApps with uPort?

As soon as the light turns green. :)

Heck yeah, I'm probably not the *best* source to talk about oracles, but I've done quite a bit of research on the topic. Hit me up any time: austin@concurrence.io

I'll throw my hat in too... here is a link to my Ethereum exploration that covers some concepts about gas: https://concurrence.io/exploration/deployingacontract/

@AustinGriffith Nice write up. Would be cool to have someone talk about oracles on Dapp University if you're interested.

I don't have an article devoted to that yet. I need to write one. I will have to direct you to this explanation by @MyCrypto (for now): https://support.mycrypto.com/gas/what-is-gas-ethereum.html

@wgmeets @callmegwei I've got a video on this topic in case you're interested http://www.dappuniversity.com/videos/pojXyMPrjO0

This probably isn't want your looking for but I dove into airdrops a little while back: https://www.coindesk.com/long-icos-hello-airdrops-free-token-giveaway-craze/ They take many forms...

Thanks a bunch for that @BradyDale! Great writeup. I'll take a look at this list.

Anyone got a good example of a non-ICO token distribution that had high perceived value and didn't feel scammy?

#suggestion Agree, especially for saving a batch. Of course, on desktop most browsers do spellcheck textareas.

Haha, yeah I was being facetious. I am mostly ashamed at how many typos I can make in one day alone.

Typo on the blockchain, no takesy backsies.

I fear this platform will expose me for the fat-fingered typist that I am. Needs spell check validations on the text area before you save your peep. cc: @bevan :)

No Problem. Done. I'll also use that url when I do a write-up later. One note: Google will start penalizing sites for not being https. Check out letsencrypt.org

Haha, yeah. I have the SSL certificate. Just need to add the config. :)

Sweet, keep your Peeple in the loop. I subscribed to your channel and will add you to the resources section of my site.

Thanks for that! I just published a rough draft write up based upon my main tutorial video. I'm trying to build links back to that particular URL. Any chance you could link to it instead of the home page? http://www.dappuniversity.com/articles/the-ultimate-ethereum-dapp-tutorial

Love this initiative! Can we get more into about the premium course? The site is a little less than informative in that regard. Still working out the syllabus? You should def register as a Brave publisher to get bat tokens when people spend time with your content. Takes 5 mins.

More info on the premium course coming soon for sure! I just recently bootstrapped the website, and am adding features/content as fast as I can. Getting quite busy around Dapp University. :) I'll be sure to check out Brave publishing.
