I'm going to be at Blockstack's NYC World Tour event tonight. Anyone else joining? If so, say whassup!
I wrote about infosec in the crypto space, a follow up Panama Crypto. Check it out: https://medium.com/@AndrePreoteasa/ten-commandments-of-crypto-security-updated-1cfd754fbf45

I'm building a website as a proof-of-concept to accept bitcoin. Instead of using a third-party service to accept BTC, I'd like to implement it myself. Any thoughts on this? #BUIDL developers contact me for consulting work.

It's a cheap computer and I'm downloading the ledger on an external spinning disk. Maybe that's the reason.
I'm doing all this on a Windows box, maybe that's part of the problem.

That sounds abnormal to me. I think it took me 2-3 days the last time I did it. It can take much longer if it is a slow computer. You can also download blockchain snapshots via BitTorrent. Less secure that way, but much quicker.

Looks very interesting https://www.anomali.com/detect-18
How long has it taken you to download the Bitcoin core wallet? It's been 14 days and at 75% complete on a robust 50mbps download. Normal?
I've shared some tips for great IT support in this article: https://medium.com/@AndrePreoteasa/user-success-in-it-support-f20eeee4c8b7

We have quite a lot in common! Thank you for sharing that.
Let's talk - I'll message you.
Met Monica (Twitter: @QuaintM) at Token Engineering event in NYC two weeks ago. Great speaker. Learned a bit about Kadena.io. Going to read up about them.
(Twitter world, where this relays, I'm writing this on Peepeth).
Reading this tonight: Protocol paper by paperchain.io - Digital Asset Liquidity Protocol.

exciting! good luck to you in your future endeavors. even applying is great for exposure. :D
Thanks! I was going to take the rest of the year off after selling my company .... but who can wait!

My next step is to take on a new challenge (that is, a new job). It's going to be a company I believe in and one that is growing. Originally, I planned to take the rest of the year off, but got excited and applied to @consensys today for business operations lead.
I wrote about having an IT security philosophy.

I believe in Peepeth and have contributed to the kickstarted.
It'll be something when, one day, disgusting people like Info Wars can post uncensored on Peepeth and other decentralized forums. While I don't like him, I do support free speech. I also support companies who don't want him on their platforms.

BUIDL > HODL Who agrees with me?
I wrote it because the hype is around speculation (everyone is a Wall St analyst now!). I'd love to connect with people building dapps and adding to the bitcoin/etc infrastructure.

BUIDL > HODL
Who agrees with me?
Spent the morning hardening my personal and work gmail accounts with Yubikeys, MFA using an internet phone (not my cell phone), and locking down the services in other ways.
I have peepeth forwarded to Twitter and it's interesting how new peeps are forwarded, but not replies.

Reading about "secret sharing". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secret_sharing
All this stuff amazes me. I'm still amazed at the most basic computer functions, such as how memory is persistantly stored when off. Amazing.

My first thoughts on Steemit is that it's like Reddit (I've never used Reddit, so maybe I'm wrong).
Whoa, looks like Steemit is huge in Korea ("KR" trending topic has the most comments).

Steemit is a great place to operate right now especially for IT devs and security pros. There are also lots of blockchain companies branching off to there own main nets with plenty of room for growth in those spaces If you want to get started on steemit let me know
Awesome - will check out.

Awesome Andre! Good luck as you move forward. This is a brilliant community full of very early adopters so theres def some great minds to collaborate with here!
Totally agree. This is the space that is going to disrupt Google and Facebook AND I WANT TO BE PART OF THAT!

You could also talk to @vikmeup of #Trust
Thanks. If I get through to him, then I'll pass you some ETH as a thank you.
The first place I would like to contribute is to security for users (where I have the most experience) and then security on dapps and the network.
For example, wallet security.
My info is here https://www.linkedin.com/in/andrepreoteasa/ and my companies are here https://of.systems and https://drinks.technology.
I am looking to #BUIDL.
I'm looking to collaborate with people in the decentralized space. I'm successfully exiting out of my IT business and have 5 months to get ready for my next move. This is great timing for a collaboration

Thank you Andre, have sent you an email.
I replied back. Did you get it? Let's find a way to collaborate. I'm interested to work in this space - good timing for you if you want some help.

It’s Peepeth rather than peepath. 🐧🐧🐧
It's like when I worked in the wine industry (IT Director) and there was a brand called Betts & Scholl that took years to not spell it as Betts & School.

I've been bootstrapping Peepeth. I'll be releasing other optional paid features, but it will be awhile before it's self-sustaining. I'm exploring options for funding too, including a possible Kickstarter.
I'm transitioning from IT support (MSP) with a successful exit to contribute to the decentralized space. Count me in if you're looking to collaborate.
Just ordered a yubikey to make my systems even more secure. Goal is to have certain apps ONLY accessible from my 2 laptops and no where else, including my phone.
@bevan how does Peepath make money? If it's decentralized with no ads, how do you get compensated for your time to create this awesome product?

Welcome Andre! All suggestions for Peepeth appreciated.
Loving Peepath so far. Seems like the community is decentralized enthusiast like me. Any tips on using for business (that would be different than Twitter)?
I'm going to use Peepath, a decentralized Twitter, for a while to see how it goes. Right now all peeps (from Peepath) will show up as tweets on Twitter.
What's up world! I'm really exited to be on a decentralized social media platform. Kick ass!
