#DearFuturePeepers in 2019 people still ate meat. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/jun/05/eating-meat-future-socially-unacceptable-obsolete?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
in 2019 people eat pet food that is mimicking a burger. grain, soy, and vegetable oil should be avoided at all costs by any human who strives to be healthy. feel free not to eat meat. your choice. but refuse grain, sugar, soy, and seed oils marketed by dirtbags like burger king.
good morning world . Tambaya Peaberry coffee from Kenya . Roasted by Chromatic Coffee in California . brewed espresso-style using my aeropress with Prismo attachment . the brew was tart, sharp, yet deep & reassuring . i freaking love coffee .

good morning , fellow traveler . thanks for joining our community , I hope this day brings you good things .
don't let perfect be the enemy of good. whether you get 90% of the benefits of fasting or 100% of the benefits of fasting, you're benefiting. the *psychological* benefits of realizing that you can go 24, 48, or 72 hours without food is worth the price of admission alone.

i'm not an authority on the matter so if you believe me to be misunderstanding please share with me how and why. but think about it. if pure electrolytes would break a fast, your own saliva would. and unless you're drinking deionized water, you're drinking electrolytes anyway.

I mainly go by the guidance of Dr. Rhonda Patrick, and her research indicates that anything that must be metabolized negates some benefits. It doesn't matter if it has calories or not. I prefer to not risk losing benefit, so I probably would stick to only water.
Rhonda P and Satchin P did discuss at length that 'xenobiotics' will, on some (nitpicky?) level interrupt the beneficial processes engaged by prolonged fasting, but the non-caloric substances they specifically addressed were coffee, tea, and the like. pure electrolytes are fine.

I don't believe electrolytes get "metabolized", metabolism is the build-up or break-down of substances. Na, K, Mg, Ca...these things are not "digested" or "metabolized", they dissolve into solution, diffuse into your bloodstream, and will be balanced by the kidneys.
this is my son - took this pic today with my phone . i don't have any social media besides this , so i don't post pictures of him online . but since peeps are forever , may he stay here forever young . being a father is not easy for me, but he gives me a reason to be better, love

From a book I'm reading:
"Look deep enough into any person and you will find something shining within"
"Curiosity always involves risk. You can't satisfy your curiosity without accepting some risk. Curiosity didn't just kill the cat."

three beautiful bags of coffee, roasted 4 days ago, waiting for me on my doorstep. can't wait to taste it. bought with bitcoin from chromaticcoffee.com , last time i'll plug them, i've no relationship with them other than being an enthusiastic, adoring customer.
want to shout out a fabulous coffee company in San Jose CA called Chromatic Coffee. No affiliation, just love them. u can order online & pay with BTC. Gamut espresso is a staple for me but they've always got new offerings. Support good people doing good things chromaticcoffee.com

Converted another person to the Tutanota.com gang
nice! i use tuta , and i got my mother signed up to protonmail yesterday . i also like mailfence , but i've personally settled on tutanota as my favorite all around .
enjoyed the audio version of the book The Man in the Empty Suit today. I recommend it to anyone that likes stories that involve time travel. avoid all spoilers. I also finished listening to The Three Body Problem, which was dense but very rewarding.

Nice find! Are the big ones 25kg or 25lbs? Some lye should make them look new.
i can search for this info, but what would you personally do with lye to clean these up?
@Bevan, the biggest ones were 45lb/20.4kg, not pictured in the picture because i'd already carried them off, then thought to snap a pic. there were two 45s, two 25s, four each of 10s and 5s
huge score while on a walk. some weights derelict on a lawn two houses away from me. owner walks out right as i'm passing by and says I can have them, they've been there since before he moved in. 200 lbs total. even used weights go for about 50 cents a pound..

That’s true; to hit my limit takes a lot of mental energy, especially in the higher rep ranges. Good luck with your goal. Are you on a program like 5x5?
more or less, yes. starting strength style. but at the moment i have a shoulder injury that precludes back squats, so i'm just doing front squats and goblet squats to lessen my setbacks while this heals. it's the arm position that hurts, not the very minor work that the arms do.

Squats were a demoralizing slog today. Which means next time will be awesome.
squats are hard, no two ways about it. but i feel they are the *most important* exercise one can do. it is NEARLY inevitable that one will not push themselves to their actual limit, but when i summon the will to do so, i am always glad i did. i want to squat 300lb this year.
an absolutely delicious serving of coffee. a small company named Fellow makes an aeropress attachment called the Prismo, which makes a great "espresso-style" (back off, purists) shot. 20g coffee, 50g 100°C water, stir for 60 seconds, enjoy. no affiliation with Fellow, just love

If you tweet you make value for a / with the permission of a single corporate entity. If you peep, you make value for the ethereum network, interoperable blockchain social networks, devs that want to experiment with front ends, etc... and the world broadly.
extremely well-put
@scaur - got the bars & plates off craigs, people are always selling weights. $200. the power rack (with bench) was brand new off amzn for >$400. that is not a trivial amount of money, but it's an investment in health, & a gym membership would catch up to that quickly.

That's awesome, sounds like you've got a great home gym. I'd like to build one too; currently I have rings and a couple kettlebells.
it is in my bedroom. I only have a power rack, barbell, (modular) dumbbells, bands, and 2 kettlebells (25 & 40 kg). a power rack opens up most doors.

Pull-ups today. What’s your Sunday workout?
i have a left shoulder tendinitis & impingement going on. so no overhead lifts or bench pressing. today was goblet squats, deadlifts, weighted situps, dumbbell rows, calf raises, tricep pulldows, weighted lunges, kettlebell swings, shrugs. at home. i've never worked out in a gym

Citizens and their guns will not outgun a tyranical government any longer, imho. We need new and more powerful ways to keep governments in check. And we may, in fact, be using one right now. That said, you can be violent with anything. We should focus on the violence.
well said
I might be late to the party, but perchance I'm not the only one, I was shown an alt note-taking app called Standard Notes. Free dl here: https://standardnotes.org/
End-to-end encrypted. Cross-platform. Free w/ option to upgrade, they accept crypto. no affiliation, promise.
i chose to support CIvil , because they seem to be doing the kind of work that needs to be done to save journalism . check them out

When people recommend a podcast I often don't end up listening to it. only so many hours in the day & my "to-listen" queue grows faster than I actually listen. i assume your lives are much the same. with that said, i want to recommend a fiction podcast. The White Vault. So good.

it looks great . MCW has always impressed me with how effectively you go above and beyond to educate people to be informed users . this is an easy to understand and useful graphic
a good predictor of future health is your present health . are you truly optimal ? don't wait to change . question your beliefs , are they based on results ?
what is your favorite time travel movie ?
I like timecrimes, primer, predestination
