Is it possible to peep multiple photos in a single peep?

Yeah, peeple have asked for compress on ingest (make smaller on upload) ... I think that's on the to-do list... in the meantime... can you dial down the capture size on your phone? You know we wanna see what you're working on. Don't make us wait. ;-)

Is the 5mb a limit on IPFS itself?

A follow up question: Who pays for storage costs on IPFS? What happens when someone spams 5mb files all day?

So everyone, hows the peeping???

If it starts changing, let’s grab the first 250 peepers and head to another anonymous decentralized block and put up a sign, “no mainstream nutjobs allowed” #consider

Haha. Sounds like a plan.

Also, I'm a big fan of the #plumperlife updates. Can't wait for the next one :)

The thing is, peepeth represents something greater than just "decentralized twitter". It's a shift of power, empowering people without needing corporations. Corps are obsolete. We got this. We don't need ads, we don't need hierarchy, we create a movement that cannot be corrupted.

Very well put. We need this to be the rallying cry of decentralized technology as opposed to the endless speculative price discussions. There is more value in empowering people, doing social good and removing middle men and corporations than there is increasing crypto prices.

I love being able to follow people involved in blockchain without seeing posts about btc/eth price and TA all the time :) Thanks #peepeth

Agreed. Although the pessimist in me thinks that this will soon change once we have more #peepers on here. I would love to be proven wrong though, and have this place grow whilst retaining a genuine and sincere attitude.

Who's on your #wishlist of influencers you'd wanna see peepin'? In no particular order, I've got: -Brian Armstrong -Fred Ehrsam -Fred Wilson -Zooko Wilcox -Erik Voorhees

Definitely Vitalik "Not giving away ETH" Buterin.

Peepeth gets a mention (first paragraph) on an article about "Minds", a facebook-like decentralized social media platform. They have an Ethereum token on testnet and will launch on mainnet soon.

I wonder how ENS addresses would work with Peepeth. Do they show up on your profile instead of the hex address?

Have you looked into this post by Vitalik? I think it addresses this exact problem of flagging unwanted content: https://ethresear.ch/t/prediction-markets-for-content-curation-daos/1312

Because of the multi front end problem, in addition to _hide_ there should be a _flag_ attribute. Could take many forms, including "removed by poster (for reason X)", "copyright infringement", "illegal content", etc. Front ends could then choose what to show/hide based on that

There is no delete from Ethereum once a transaction is confirmed. The IPFS hash for the peep/peeps is then immutable (until rent) A hide could be implemented, though any client would need to respect it and there could be some which might not, or even focus on hidden peeps

If peeps are permanent on both Ethereum and on IPFS, what does this mean for the posting of copyright infringement material?

This is also worrying if someone takes someone else's material and monetizes it through tips. I wonder if there is a possible solution to this?

A bit of data I gathered from my Twitter and Facebook Analytics: Across both platforms, even though female interest in crypto/blockchain is about 5% vs 95% male, engagement and interaction is closer to 25% female vs 75% male. Women are more likely to get involved and take action!

That is a very interesting stat. I can totally see the speculative interest being heavily skewed on the male side whereas the general actual engagement and use of dApps would be more evenly split. It would be interesting to know what the breakdown on something like Steemit is.

I would imagine it would have the opposite effect. As the cost of gas/transactions decline, people should be incentivized to us dApps more, because each blockchain interaction is relatively cheaper. If anything I would think an inverse correlation could develop over time.

@bob Agreed. But with scaling in the future, isn't the cost of gas going to be less relevant in being a barrier to dApp use?

@pinastri Noticed you're in Toronto. Do you know anyone at https://cryptochicks.ca/ by any chance? Trying to get them invites. Peepeth is only 1-2% women!

@Bevan Unfortunately not. I will do my best to spread the Peepeth gospel though. We need to increase those numbers.
