Not able to understand where i can put mokens to use... will be good if a real case can be explained
They capture something meaningful to them as an ERC721 token. People are making mokens about themselves to make themselves known to the world. People are making mokens about their business to make their business known. All good uses.

What can mokens be used for is a very good question. Mokens are brand new so I think the use cases for mokens will increase a lot. People are using mokens for various things today. I see people making mokens to freeze something they care about in time with a picture. More next

Lots of governance fun. Once moken holders control new eras that will be very interesting.
yes, agreed

I want an art era, so I can create mokens from some of my photos.
Yea, sounds good!

I would mint more mokens but am put off by the pricing. Why use mokens when I can mint my own ERC721 for just the transaction cost? A new era with only a small price increase would be interesting but how would the genesis minters feel? Hard done by?
I imagine that different eras will have mokens of different value. Mokens of some eras will be more desirable/useful/valuable/expensive than others. Would you rather have an expensive gold era moken or a cheap aluminum era moken?

I plan to make a contract and a simple user interface that enables the moken holders to vote on the next era and the new minting price and step increase price for the new era.

Great points. I am working on distinguishing mokens from just any old ERC721 token. I am now starting to work on getting mokens adopted by other Ethereum systems and games. When mokens can be used for things other tokens can't, that is one reason to get mokens.
@abcoathup, @NateStipe I am curious what you think about about this article: https://medium.com/mokens/why-does-mokens-have-an-increasing-mint-price-fc64354550d7

Sure. I'm going to keep an eye on the moken mint event processing and see if I can streamline it. I'm making the moken system better and better.

It’s launching tonight (Australian time) if I recall? I won’t be staying up but will check the price in the morning.
Pricing for mokens is starting at 0 ETH and incrementing by 0.0005 ETH. This is the pricing for the first era, Genesis.

@abcathup, good to know! Mokens is launching to the main ethereum network very soon so this will be fixed soon! Thank you for telling me this.

I don't think the word "token" is required. If it gets adopted, people will know it by what it has been created as. If I am understaning it correctly, you are offering a service to take blanks and make tokens
I want to provide a service that enables ethereum game and system developers to mint generic tokens and customize as their own that they can use in their systems, and that is fully ERC721 based. And users can use their generic tokens between systems.
Replying to @NateStipe (0xd5d560b2e9faddd6796ac777963dd59c42babae2)
Is the premise that games/systems would use your service as the creator of the token which would then xfer to them to be assigned? Couple names that come to mind is Vanilla (as in plain/general) or Slate (as in a blank slate).
Games/systems would use my contract to mint new gen tokens or enable users to use their gen tokens with their system. Yes, Vanilla and Slate are good ideas. Thank you!
Gen Token for General Token or Generic Token. And Boring Token, because it is boring by itself and only fun when integrated into people's systems.
@NateStipe The token does nothing itself. It's purpose is to give an ERC721 token that is used across and between many people's systems. Other people's systems add value and functionality to the tokens. So far names I have for the token are Simple Token, Gen Token.
@NateStipe maybe you can help me come up with a name for a new ERC721-based token. It is like mokens but it has a very low cost fairly fixed and trustless mint price. It is a general/generic token to be used by many ethereum games and systems that want to use an existing system.
Pull requests (https://github.com/ethereum/EIPs/pull/1101) and https://github.com/ethereum/EIPs/pull/1100 need to be approved before ERC721 can be finalized. Let's get them approved! #ERC721

Can Moken contracts be modified to add attributes that would be achieved or are they static once created?
There is only one Moken Contract that makes many mokens. Attributes are added to mokens by other contracts. Any contract that integrates mokens can add attributes to it.

Think about your use case for mokens. Why would someone create a moken rather than create their own ERC721 token. What benefit is their being under the moken brand? How does mokens make things easier to use in other apps/dApps?
Great questions. I want to write a blog post about these things.

Thanks. Just visual selection.

Look at what ENS does. I think they allow Unicode but want clients to check names.
Yes, having the client handle sneaky characters is a good idea. Also, I talked to my wife who is Chinese and she said that people want to create things in their own language and that makes sense and I don't want to take that away.
Should moken names be ascii and the contract prevent certain characters to help make moken names look more unique? Or should all of UTF-8 be used?
Restricting moken names to ascii and preventing whitespace/non-printable characters from being used (other than the space character between letters) keeps moken names simple and helps keep them unique looking. But then it prevents other languages from being used to make names.
mokens has an interesting problem: restrict moken names to ascii and prevent non-printable/whitespace from being used? Or don't do that and let all of UTF-8 to be used? More info: https://github.com/mudgen/mokens-bug-bounty/issues/1#issuecomment-393222755

I would be very cautious with that. The Moken are people who may be offended by their identity being appropriated. Mokens needs to find a brand of its own. E.g. maker token. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_Gypsies

but in the crypto world. I want to integrate mokens with other people's contracts and games and applications and such and I think of these as islands the mokens travel between and of course mokens go to the open sea to be traded.
