Then send over your best pitch why protecting your data and decentralization matters, as a reply below this thread. Why a decentralized computing platform helps developers, and any other comments you might have! We'll DM the best answers with a ticket!
Re: #ETHcc, Marcin Benke from the R&D team will be presenting "Pay as you use Golem" their work on distributed economics where users are charged for resources they used rather than for tasks that are priced beforehand.
We will not deprecate Medium but as most crypto projects, we cannot afford to be deplatformed. We have +2 years of blogposts that mean everything to us. Self-hosting @TryGhost is the best alternative for us now.
Listen up!
1. We have tickets for #ETHcc for community members. So just answer with a reason why you want them and what does "taking control of your data" mean to you.
2. We migrated to Ghost, for the reason above.

9/ In regards to the price you should be charging - we provide some pricing best practices in our documentation. Read them - a user-controlled cloud means you are also in control of your prices and assume the costs :) https://golem.network/documentation/08-pricing-best-practices/
8/ So, it would be a bit disingenuous to just put a calculator for earnings without considering all these very personal variables - and (surprise!) we're not too keen on data harvesting - so users can share their benchmarks, earnings, etc. and that creates the best cost indicator
7/ (Needless to say, TIME IS MONEY - as the machine needs to be on, you need to be online, etc. etc. etc.)
6/ TIME, PRECIOUS TIME: sometimes, getting a task takes time, we're on our early stages and the marketplace needs more requestors. The task assignment may depend on bandwidth, benchmarks, pure luck (being close to the requestor node at the right moment), machine stats, etc.
5/ Another note: solutions for port forwarding are currently being researched!
4/ another variable to consider is that we currently require port forwarding. For some people this means using VPNs, these cost money and there are too many options for you to decide, once again, that affects costs. (not all users need VPNs, this is simply a workaround for some)
3/ Your hardware: our network is formed by GPUs, CPUs, Data Centers, and all have their hardware costs. The performance of your hardware affects the time you use to compute a task, therefore, affects your electricity usage as well.
2/ Electricity: providers are distributed across the globe. Therefore, if you are sitting in Texas, your electricity costs will vary from those sitting in Shanghai, or Buenos Aires. This does not only vary across geographic locations, but also electricity providers.
1/ Let's talk Task Prices and Costs in the Golem Network. Many of you ask for charts, calculators, and others, but forget that due to the nature of our project, this cannot be accurately calculated. Let's explain step by step.
Only a week to go for Marcin's talk at #ETHcc in Paris! Pay as you use Golem: our current work on distributed economics where users are charged for resources they used rather than for tasks that are priced beforehand.

Could you possibly verify your Twitter or Github accounts so that the peeple here can be sure it's really *the* Golem project... **so we can get the party started?!** Welcome to Peepeth.
Verifying... the real deal Golem's here! https://twitter.com/golemproject/status/1100331075623178240

Bonjour! from now on, we will be using Peepeth and Twitter simultaneously, to open more communication channels with equal amounts of information. Stay tuned.

Awesome to see Golem here. How can peeping be made easier for your project? Let @bevan know how peepeth can improve for you.
Less signatures, more bridges. Still trying to figure out how to make the most of Twitter and Peepeth and not lose it :) xx MP

Welcome @GolemProject! Excited to have you here.
Thanks for the welcome! looking forward to start the peepin'
Hello Peepers! We are excited to be now on this platform too, supporting our space and microblogging!
