Mh, no. Only via mobile 😅

Since they re-released Skyrim and Fallout 4 for VR, I am perfectly happy on both fronts :D
Yeah... Unfortunately I'm not a VR fan :(

Well, whatever I post stays forever on the Steem blockchain :). What is the size limit on Peepeth?
Except for images :) they're centralized on steemit and other frontends

Goodmorning Peeps, quick question: Is it ok to use microblogging to spil your guts about almost anything? I was wondering if I could continue for what purpose I had in the beginning using twitter. Is there a limit as on what to spill guts about? #ilovepeepeth
I doubt the blockchain will complain about your brainfarts ;)

This seems cool and weird at the same time. Why not just take a picture? Found a video about it that makes it more clear. Thanks for sharing, @fav https://www.greatbigstory.com/stories/the-registry-of-clown-faces
because this is used since long before photography, I guess

@d2r2, You are welcome! Peeping interesting ideas. Don't worry, I'm a bit skeptical about it still. Meanwhile I'm searching for stuff like I'm a martian :)
Do they pay in crypto?
Should we start giving out $LITT bounties for active #BitShares UI Github helpers? Eg. post a bug find, if it gets merged in, you can claim Bounty? #LifeTimeToken
I wonder if #EOS whales will get a main net voted in, or if they'll wait until proper tools (wallets) are available... I Aldo wonder how many scams will pop up in the next days
And just like that I ROId already in megacryptopolis. Not too bad for a game in development 😄

That was perhaps my problem, I wasn’t consciously choosing who/what I followed enough- but still, I find my best learning/exposure resource is more longer form media like (audio)books, podcasts, and videos.
Absolutely, Twitter is more for light conversation😄

A problem I foresee with early adopters of peepeth is private key management. Most signup on desktop using metamask, yet that same account is likely attached to several other dapps. Going forward, we need a way to migrate a username to other wallets. Perhaps similar to ENS.
I only use my hotwallet with metamask/trustwallet, I'd say that's fine. is there a way to steal the priv key on peepeth?

it's not a problem confined to twitter. it happens all over various social media platforms with little to no consequence to the bots, spammers, scammers, and shills while the actual users suffer. spending time blocking bots is wasting time you could be using to create content.
I'd argue 200 characters are a waste of time anyways :D other than that scammers and shills are everywhere

Just gonna jump into this conversation to concede absolutely yes, paying for Peepeth >>> the time it takes to sift through garbage on other social media. I quit all my social media back in 2017, and have only used LinkedIn (for posting/connections) & Peepeth since - it's been gr8
You follow people you're interested in usually, there's little space for visible 'spam' on Twitter too.
Replying to @pluma (0xd9fb1d684627a890347a4f6a7fe32e993617b6d8)
absolutely, 100% yes. twitter may be "free" but is not worth wasting the commodity of time that it takes to sift through garbage and report bots/spammers that don't get taken down (among other issues). paying for a platform such as peepeth will always have been worth it.
But I hardly see any bots on Twitter. They're usually spamming in mentions, which is easy to avoid imo

While it's true that tweets arn't worth shit. There is a big advantages to saving them to the block chain. Because it means that anyone can fork peepeths frontend. In contrast to Facebook where people won't move to a other service because all there friends and memories are on it.
And why can't you fork it with just ipfs?

Hey @fav, welcome to Peepeth! Appreciate you sharing your thoughts and writing them up on Medium. The open back-end means that anyone else can make an alternate front-end. So while this front-end is centralized, the data is not. Will clarify that. Suggestions much appreciated.
That's cool! But I'd say the frontend is a minor problem in this design

Does it have to be that way? The assumptions we make about social networks come from the big (and quite new) ones we are using today.
sure, unless you know kanji or chinese, which allows you to tell whole fable stories in 200 or less characters :)

You hit the nail on the head for me by using the term 'senseless tweets'. One plus side of having a (relatively neglectable) fee attached to posting is that the quality of said posts tends to be less abysmal. Let us keep the senseless tweets on Twitter.
everything is senseless on a fast moving social network, even if you think you're an lyrical genius, no one will remember your tweet from 1 hour before :)

and use IPFS as storage? I mean batching tx is great to save money, but let's be real: 99% of tweets are not worth a penny. if there is no way to make them free on ethereum, just use it as account base. also, peepeth is not open/invite only, which makes it centralized
...and centralized apps don't need a blockchain for much. except for accounts (as mentioned) would be cool. so no need to pay more money than needed IMO

here are my thoughts on #peepeth: obvious beta, missing apps etc, that's fine. using blockchain to login/sign-up is awesome. IPFS is awesome too. BUT why on earth do you need a blockchain to store & pay for senseless tweets? wouldn't it be enough to store account data on-chain
