...which Metamask will create for you (once logged into Metamask itself with that password). The Status and Cipher apps act like Metamask; they also can take in a 12-word phrase, and let you set a password to prove you're you rather than needing to re-enter it each time.

I guess MetaMask is different from Status and Trust since it is a browser plugin that provides me with an option to multiple ETH wallet addresses and… (2/n)

@midnight @sparrow If you don't mind I rephrase what you wrote to see if I understand well and post a few additional questions… I think it's clear to me now that various parties like MetaMask, Trust, Status offer to be my wallet and provide an easy way to connect… (1/n)

Terrific @midnight. Thanks for your explanation. That clear up a lot. I'm going to experiment with the various services to get a better hang of what works with what and what not. This is a great help. Thanks again!

Thanks for your explanation @midnight. I have to read into your answer a bit more because I still don't grasp how I can login to other Dapps so that they show up as sub-accounts on metamask. Do I do that with the same passphrase as meta mask? I don't have other passwords? Thanks
Addition... Most apps ask for a password or offer to import a account with a 12 word phrase. I don't have the password and I don't understand how else I can login to the other Dapps? The subaccounts don't show passwords? Sorry if I sound daft. Trying to get used to this ecosystem

The "12-word phrases" that many apps use are HD wallets that allow many sub-accounts under them. In Metamask click your avatar in the top-right to see other accounts linked to the same phrase. So, just use the different sub-accounts for different apps

I did the same with uPort.me in their iOS app. Sign in with the same passphrase as Status.im. My worry is if this would 'polute' an identity from various sources. What would be the wise thing to do? I'd prefer one passphrase so that I can use different apps for e.g Peepeth (2/2)
A question for you blockchain hero's: What would be the preferred way to deal with your identity/wallet on the blockchain. I log into Peepeth and MetaMask with the same 12 word phrase and my password. So that I can use the same funds in various Dapps (1/2)

I could - but since I started Peepeth with metamask I would need to import my metamask seed. And I don't trust the security of those mobile wallets yet. (also not sure if they use the same key derivation path)
I started my Peepeth account on the iOS beta of Status.im (via Apple TestFlight). And then used my Security phrase to login to MetaMask. Already had a MetaMask account but I valued my @janpeeters at Peepeth too much to let it slide. Status and Trust seem trustworthy parties to me
Went to BredaPhoto.nl last weekend. Saw a lot of inspiring photos in the theme "To Infinity and Beyond". One Dutch photographer took very close up pictures of very rare amphibians. When looking at them I was surprised about the amount of character that they radiate.
Came across the following great wisdom recently.
